The unit tested will face six trials:
- Castle Attack
- Battle vs. A Horde
- Battle vs. Elite
- Battle vs. Missile Units
- Battle vs. Army
- Castle Defense
They will score points from these, as well as from abilities in campaign map, construction chain costs and from the army costs. The army is determined by 20 weeks of growth. The tested units will be controlled by human, and tactics can be used.

ancient behemots should have gotten extra points for lategame scaling. In case of 2 well developed heroes fighting, let's say around 30-30 attack and defense skills on both sides, the 80% defense reduction becomes insane. There is no such fight in your test, which is understandable since most units' results wouldn't change, but we have an exception here. And frankly by the time one has around 40 tier7 upgraded creatures, heroes can be quite developed.

Thanks for the comment. A valid point. That was demonstrated quite well especially vs elite, army and siege defense which all had high tier creatures :)

Behemots have literally best and cheapest building path among all lvl 7 creatures How did they finish with 2 points in the category? O.o

Thanks for the comment. The scale is more granular for the cheaper construction chains. Perhaps the gap between 0-3 points is a bit too big :)

Many unfair matchups, 15 titans alone costs more than 50 behemots and you also added 60 magi and 240 master gremlins which alone is able to take 10 more behs. Castle wise defender could have utilize harpy hags ability at least 3 more times which could help winning battle as well as using troglodytes to seal the hole + do a lot of kiting + try knocking down catapult.

Thanks for the comment. The idea is not to have "equal" armies in these battles but to test how well (or badly) some unit performs these test armies. The opponents are controlled by AI to keep their performance on a even level. The main limiting element for the units is weekly growth even though cost is taken into account to a degree. :)

The Stronghold battle was very unfair, only 40 ordinary behemoths against 20 ancient beh, 60 rocs etc. Ancient Behemoths are incredible though.

Thanks for the comment. The test battles are not meant to be fair per se but each tested unit faces the same trials. Thus, the results are gleaned comparing how well they fared in the tests :) But yea, the army battle is really hard, and only really few units have managed to win it.

I'm enjoying this series so far. I can't wait to see the walking dead and zombies at the bottom of the final list. They are so useless, jeez. Also, I can't help but think that speed 3 units should have a -1 to the "special abilities" score. Though I might be biased. I have no idea who would be in the top of the list... 20 weeks of vampire lords are not enough to win all battles, otherwise, since there's almost no undeads (or golems or elementals) in any of the fights, they would win. While on this, prepare to have some very long battles with vampire lords and arch devils, while using "go to opposite corner, wait, attack, repeat" for many many turns in some of these battles. Also, maybe do a ranged pair of units next ?

Try to do some best units on their tier, I think I wanna see : Centaur Captains, Harpy Hags, Storm Eles, Sea Dogs, Royal Griffins, Vamp Lord, Greater Basilisk, Archmage, Thunderbirds, Mino Kings, Mighty Gorgons, Power Liches, All tier 6, All t7. Sorry if I asking too much. This is interesting. It's gonna be one of the bests heroes 3 docs series.

Ну, 40 бегемотов это много, я думаю, надо было взять 30, чтобы было более наглядно Обычные стоят дешевле, а значит, их должно быть больше, чем улучшенных

Thanks for the comment. The test is based on weekly growth, so there is the same amount of units. I agree that in some cases the cost may be a limiting factor as well. But in this case the cost only affects the score with the weekly growth being "the" limiting factor :)

A good question. Do they come from might and magic rpgs? Behemoth is also mentioned in the Old Testament as a pre-historical monster. But I don't have further information about it. :) Thanks for the comment.
