PSA: the ulfhednar's stats are wrong. Their polearm stat is 130 and their two handed is 80. It should be the other way around.

ya the devs probably forgot that the two handed axes in bannerlord are actually two handed. in warband, the best axes were polearms that could alternate to two handed.

This guy is also playing the game on Easy, meaning his troops take less damage, have more health and deal more damage. So that by itself is a greater "margin of error" than the 80 to 130 stat differential. So.... Yeah.

Sturgia's nobles the "druzhinnik champion" with a giant lance, and no bow has 60 in polearm and 220 in bow... they even made mamlukes mounted archers... like what?

Lmao, that looter towards the end throwing his rock was like leonidas in 300 when he was throwing his spear at xerxes while his men were getting massacred by arrows. His defiance in the face of death and throwing that staple weapon of looters makes him one of the greatest looters I've ever seen. RIP.

Exactly what I am always thinking watching these. If he switched sides they would have won simply because of the gamemode. I wont attack sea raiders with recruits simply because they are one shots on realistic.

He also often describes the difference in terms of numbers... but usually the enemy armies consist of a large number of recruits and other low tier units which he puts up against top tier troops. I know there's not a whole lot you can do unless custom battles get fleshed out and let you decide precise units.

Because like he said before in one of these videos, easy mode (2/3 damage) is the one that most people will play at and the army composition consist of large number of recruits is the most common type that you will find at any given time in the game ( exception being the armies of faction leaders ). This is not a try hard test to see which unit is the best compare to other units, this is just to show you what you would expect out of that unit when you're playing at casual difficulty.

I quickly stopped using berserkers and ulfhednars during my Sturgia only campaing on realistic. Yes, they do a hell lot of damage, yes, they can win battles for you completely on their own and yes, they are the first ones in every battle that get killed even by low tier archers since every other Sturgian melee infantry unit has a big ass shield while ulfhednars only have their battle hardened chest hair. Really, when I did smaller battles and lost about 10 men, I didn't even have to look to know that at least 5 of them were ulfhednars. The problem is mostly that archers are a bit over the top in Mount and Blade 2, so in my opinion every melee infantry unit without a shield isn't really worth bothering. But if you prefer a masochistic lifestyle and use a similar amount of berserkers and ulfhednars as he did in the video above, I would highly advise you to use them in combination with at least some horse raiders. Berserkers nuke the enemy's morale so quickly that basically more than half their army is running away each time, so horse raiders will help a lot in terms of running down fleeing units, which is important, since with a berserker army, you do not meassure difficulty in troops you have to cut down, but rather in how many times you have to charge through archer bombardment. You want to do as much damage as possible in each engagement.

Ulfhednars are *useless* dont waste your Berserker with upgrading them. 10 Lowtier Archers can wipe out dozens auf them, before they can throw just one Axe. Not to mention sieges.

I think someone smart would just dich the shok infantry for more usefull tools, like horse archers or more cav. Cause in bannerlord right now there not a lot of place for creative tactics

Vlandian sharpshooters are a good range-melee hydrib with more emphasis on range while not being excelent at it like bow units due low fire rate. The Skolder Veteran Brotvas should be the same but with more emphasis on melee due their high amount of javelines.
