Of course its not histically in accurate Im.showing off some of the cool mods people have made in this basic version of bannerlord. Please dont feel the need to tell me, i didnt spend years studying ancient history, specifically sparta to be told the shields are too small in a shitty mod... It's so dumb, that even using a square formation in a river doesn't stop cavalry from just trotting through the formation. And the formations make units too passive.

I would do the large reinforced shield from the north as a good stand-in for the hoplite shield but that dinky round shield will do i suppose.

Please test an army of polearm units like vlandian voulgiers or pikemen or imperial menavliatons, i'm very interested if the weapon reach gives them any benefit, also i think they keep their polearms out (and not use their swords) in certain formations like the shieldwall

You should try to incorporate custom battles so we can get actual battles against higher tier troops. In campaign it's mostly just recruit spam for the AI so it's not as clear cut as to how good a unit or an Archer/cavalry/infantry/etc spam army could be outside of campaign. You should put custom battles in to do an extreme test or something. Love the series btw 👌

The AI and formations need a lot of work. When you form a shield wall the units won’t attack anything that gets in their melee range. I had enemy cavalry hit my shield wall and they just waddled around in amongst my soldiers hacking them up. I kept repeating it to see if it was a bug but nope just bad AI. I’m sure things will get polished up and I’m excited to see this game evolve.

You know how the troops follow behind the the battering ram while it’s moving? Well, would it be too much to ask the developers have the troops move along in front of the ram until it reached the wall and then simply step to the side?

Your videos are great, Resonant, especially on these unit reviews. Spartans - interesting, yes, but it's slightly problematic - purple capes, doesn't use spears as main weapon most of the time, swords are wrong as well. Game is still in early access, people are still learning. My advice would be to stick to regular troops. Currently, there are many interesting questions. As a suggestion for videos, I'd put - which archers shoot the fastest (and if thats viable), and how good are the camel riding troop army.
