Hariyama is actually _really good_ in Pokemon Go. In PoGo, due to how the gym system works, you are fighting Blisseys constantly. As a result, fighting-type Pokemon with good STAB moves are highly prized. Counter and Dynamic Punch are the highest-damage fast and charged fighting attacks (respectively); and Machamp is the best Pokemon who can use them. However, the Machop evolution line is irritatingly hard to come by in the wild, and often Makuhita is more available. So if you don't have enough Machamps, Hariyama can also be taught Counter and Dynamic Punch and used the same way; it just has slightly lower defense/survivability.

Hariyama has been my favorite fighting type Pokémon of all time solely for it's design! It was tricky for me to find a niche role for it, since many other great fighting types outclass it, but I appreciate taking advantage of its unique strengths that other fighting types don't have. I’m surprised it took this long to get Hariyama on the show. Honestly, I always thought Hariyama was a Pokemon people would praise. I mean, it’s got a strong Typing, Attack and HP, Solid Abilities and Moves, and a pretty good design. Yet, I don’t really hear talk of it. It might just be me, but it’s one of the first Pokemon I think of when I think of Fighting Types (aside from Lucario, Infernape, etc)

It has the Wailord problem: high HP but very low Defense, so Hariyama would easily fall to any choiced/boosted attacker

I think a fun special, or another catagory of videos you could do would be the history of some of the trainers. We hear names like Ray Rizzo alot, it would be neat to go over their successes and teams they used over the years

I used Hariyama competitively in Ultra Sun. 108HP, 200DEF, 200S.DEF, Adamant Nature with Guts/Flame Orb. The moves: Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Knock Off, Close Combat. I'm tell you, that thing would solo entire online teams with legendaries.

I think Hariyama would've done well in a similar niche to what it had in 2014 and 2017 in VGC 2020. While it would have to compete with Hitmontop and Scrafty again, I think in theory it could use its great movepool like before with the addition of Dynamax making it even harder to one shot and opening up boosting oppurtunities with weakness policy or various max moves.
