He was a very good fighter and I enjoyed watching him fight , especially how he was very evasive and would move in out of range leaving his opponents so frustrated they would be like " You gonna fight or what ? " Then - Boom ! He would let them have it. He was the epitome of being able to hit his opponent without being hit - the perfect fighter. I don't know what happened, but his victory was only for a short time. He did prove that a traditional martial art like Karate can work and is not to be underestimated. And he showed what is possible. Because the truth is there are no limits, it all depends on the fighter and what he is capable of. Just like Chuck Liddell. He was winning so many fights and knocking everyone out ( also he had a Kempo background ) but unfortunately one day his luck changed and he was just never the same. I think more then anything it has to be a mental thing , maybe they just got burned out and lost their motivation for whatever reason, because they definitely had the edge in skills. It happens. Because you have to be hungry in order to keep on winning.

This Man has fought all the top fighters in their prime and held his own most of the time. That’s a True Champ. It’s crazy he’s fought every one

Thank you Kiiyon for these uploads. I stopped following MMA for the most part in the late 90's, although I would watch an occasion fight like Holm vs Rousey, but thanks to you I can see previews of these fighter's careers. I also like that you added the opponent's record and their current win/loss streak coming into each fight. Great job! Keep up the great work!

Lyoto is one of my top 2 favorite MMA fighters of all time. Was such a joy watching him systematically pick apart opponents with his karate, which is so rare in MMA, as most strikers in MMA come from Boxing or Muay Thai backgrounds. Wins over some truly big names like BJ Penn, Mauricio Rua, Rashad Evans, Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Chael Sonnen, Ryan Bader, Dan Henderson, Gegard Mousasi, Vitor Belfort, and Rich Franklin. I wish he had retired sooner though, he has really damaged his record by fighting past his prime. Should have retired after that Chael Sonnen win when he was 26-8, instead he has now lost 4 in a row and still won't retire.
