It seemed liked like Michael Bisping was never going to be a champion in the UFC. The British fighter became one of the best middleweights in the promotion by beating his opponents with high volume striking and pure grit. But he would always come up short when it came to earning a title shot. Which for a time, labelled him as the greatest journeyman in the sport. So how good was Michael Bisping Actually?

As others have mentioned when first I became aware of Mike Bisbing I didn't like his loud, obnoxious antics. Another loud mouth Britt is what I thought.. but when I became aware of his vision loss.. missing eyeball? Mad respect ensued. He has earned his right to talk smack..

I think people keep forgetting he was not in a fight with Dan Henderson, but he was in a war with Dan Henderson, whether anyone agrees with the call or not, is beyond the fact he went to war, before he fought GSP and went to war again with GSP, and let’s be real, GSP is/ was on another level completely from almost everyone, but Michael Bisping still gave him a fight. His string of losses that made him call it a career, is no accomplishment short of amazing when you consider he lost his eye nine to ten fights prior to retiring.

If Bisping had come through during the current era, in which fighters get proper world class coaching from a very young age he would for sure be one of the Goats of the sport. 27 when he went professional and he was only 33/34 when he got a coach who was worthy of his talent (jason parillo). Long career, champion with a decent championship run means he is one of the greats of the sport. Never backed down depsite what alot of people say, - he was booked to fight the Whittaker vs Romero winner and that only didnt happen bc Whittaker injured his knee. Legend of the sport.

I remember watching his fight with Anderson Silva. That's the night he won me over and I became I big supporter of his. The night he won the Middleweight title was insane as well. Bisping is a real inspiration and someone in the sport I hold very highly.

He hasnt had his eye removed! He couldn't fight with a glass eye, he kept the bad one and pretended it wasn't as bad until he retired. He still has both eyes, one doesn't work and he wears a glass lens over it to look normal now.
