@@ILiekFishes wasn’t there a time when Raichu was used on rain teams (in doubles)? In singles it’s good in theory- being fast with high 110 speed, and access to lots of decent moves. Like Fake Out, STAB Thunder, Nuzzle, Nasty Plot, and Helping Hand. Like I said- it’s good in theory. In practice it doesn’t have the stats to back up any of its roles. Only 90 attack/Special Attack so can’t reliably sweep, very little bulk so can’t take hits well enough to support with screens/Helping Hand/Nuzzle, and can’t set up Nasty Plot that well. If you lead with it Nasty Plot+Focus Sash, you might have some chance of success in singles, but if the opponent has any type of entry hazards, especially from literally any ground type, you have no hope.

Vigoroth shares a lot with Duskclops. Both were introduced in Gen III, have a evolution that outclasses them in raw power and bulk, and but had their niches in tiers below their evolutions. Gen V completely flipped that with the introduction of Eviolite to give some love to non-fully evolved mons. It's seems GameFreak is adamant of not buffing Dusknoir and Slaking so they will likely continue existing in obscurity. Without eviolite, so will dusclops and vigoroth. Vigoroth will always be fun to use in it's debut gen.

Which is probably why most players chose not to let vigaroth evolve into slaking, aside from simply completing the Pokédex, but to avoid the fact slaking only attacks every other turn.

Honestly at this point Slaking should just have a neutral ability. I don't even think it would be Ubers at this point. I see Kartana as similar to it, which has the advantage of a better defensive typing as a trade off for less raw bulk. But also has better coverage, attack that is easily boostable and better speed. Regigas would probably be Ubers with a neutral ability though, those weight moves would crush OU. At least both of them would be usable, finally.
