The frustration I'm having with Calendly is that I can't figure out how to have my Google Calendar events import into Calendly even though they are linked. So, whenever I'm scheduling available times in Calendly I have to click back to Google Calendar and manually block out all of my Google Calendar appointments in Calendly. I've been using Google Calendar lately as we are already paying/using Google Workspace, and having some issues. I've used the appointment schedule feature to allow people to book 3 different types of meetings, ie. a 15-minute appointment, a 20-minute appointment, and a 30-minute appointment. After a week, I realized the buffer time of 15 minutes (that I have set on each appointment type) wasn't working. I had 4 clients book back-to-back with me, leaving me no time to prepare for each meeting. This is a pretty big issue that Google hasn't been able to solve, telling me that they just rolled out this feature and are figuring it out. I'm still waiting for another employee to contact me as they are busy atm. It seems as though GC cannot handle the 'buffer' time option when you are dealing with more than one type of meeting. I tried Calendly's free version - which allows you to have only one meeting type as well (ie. 15-minute meeting) but we will be signing up for Calendly's paid version if Google cannot resolve this issue shortly. Would love to know if anyone else has had this issue.... as Google told me that many people aren't using the feature yet lol.

I think it's probably correct that a lot of people are not yet using this feature. It it quite new and many people had already been using Calendly. However Google updates and improves features constantly and the appointment booking feature will get more advanced over time.

Is there a way to apply appointment scheduling to only ONE of my calendars? Not my main one? Also, I need to use apointment times to be placeholders on colleagues calendars. And then when a confirmation comes in, we all get one. Doesn't seem to be a way to do that for now? Thanks!

Hi Guntur, You can set up many different booking calendars in the same day and even at the same time if you wanted - like for example the 3 that you listed there - you can absolutely do that. What will happen if, for example, someone books in to your grade 4 slot at 9:30am , then someone else tries to book into your grade 5 slot also at 9:30am, (this is the "conflict" you are talking about) the user will just get an error message saying they can't book into that slot. My advice would be to inform the parents that if this happens they should try a different slot. So yes, you can set up many different booking calendars on the same day with different titles. Hope that helps!

This is a great introduction to this feature. Question for you: Let's say that I offer three different classes of bookings -- :20 with a :10 buffer, :50 with a :10 buffer, and :80 with a :10 buffer. It doesn't look like I can do that with a single setup, but can I just go through the whole setup three times, despite the fact that these availabilities would hypothetically conflict? So in other words, if I follow your whole tutorial once with :20 as my appointment duration and a :10 buffer -- all the way through to the end of your video -- can I then repeat the whole process with :50 durations, but the same dates?

Hi Cory, Joshua, Google launched this update in April and at the moment it is a single use simple calendar booking system. They have already started to improve the appointment booking feature. For a lot of people this simple booking system is sufficient and they can stop using other solutions like calendly. However if you require additional features like this I would suggest continuing to use calendly if that’s what you have or look at those solutions and keep an eye on Googles updates to their appointments tool. This seems to be a premium service at $8/MTH. I'm a teacher and have workflow from school - but also provide a business outside of teaching/education. Is there a 'free' all user version? Also, is there an 'option' to not allow someone to book until you verify the booking? For example, if 3 people try to book a time/date slot, how does google calendar translate that? Can we just check a 'box' that says must be verified? Lastly, what about a 'deposit' option for keeping the booked time slot - are there any relative aides in helping streamline deposits/payments? This is simply a feature update in google calendar. It is part of the google workspace features. If you have the business standard plan or higher. Also available in the education edition of your school has google workspace. There is no verification or payment facility. Google will book in an appointment when the end user submits it. 3 people would not be able to book an appointment for the same time. Once the first person booked that slot would be gone. The system would reject the other two bookings and they would have to select another time. Fintan

Hi Jennifer Technically you could do that as you can set the custom time limit to be up to 24 hours, but it is meant for short day time appointments rather than accommodation rental. So if you wanted to you could have people book in, in 12 - 24 hour slots for overnight booking. However, people would have to book in each day separately in the calendar for as many days as they wanted to stay and it would be messy. Hope that helps!

If you are managing other people's calendar, it doesn't seem like you can create multiple overlapping appointment schedules, if schedule A goes from 10 am to 11am and Schedule B goes from 10:30 am - 11:30 am, I would like to tie each of those appointment schedules to different people but in google calendar at the moment it is blocking 10:30 am - 11:9 Unless I am missing something, can someone guide me into creating overlapping appointment schedules

Once you have used Calendly, you'll find Google Calendar too lame, even compared to Calendly's free version. Calendly's simplicity of use and tracking is tops over Calendar. I've used them both.
