Who are the characters in the story of your life? Kathryn shares her story and the fulfillment she experienced when writing fifty letters of gratitude to her "characters," people (and animals) that impacted her life.
Kathryn Sievert was born and raised in Minnesota, approximately fifty years ago. For her fiftieth birthday celebration, she wrote fifty letters of gratitude to the individuals who changed her life through their profound influence of love, nurture and guidance. In the process of writing and sending these notes, she reflected on the journey of life through the recognition of universal archetypes that travel with us. Kathryn graduated from Bethel University with a degree in psychology and The University of Southern California with a master’s degree in social work. As a licensed clinical social worker, she currently works with families and educators providing early intervention strategies in the school system for optimal student success. From her earliest years, she has pursued her passion personally and professionally for the creation, collection, and telling of stories. She resides happily with her family, friends, and magical beast in the community of South Pasadena.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I like the idea you send the letter not anticipating a reply..you did the right thing just by sending the letter... knowing you sent caring and appreciation.. that in itself was sending good feelings toward the receiver....adding to the goodness in the world...

❤💚 Thank you for your wonderful message. I was thinking/you got me thinking: The Dark Night of the SOUL yes it is the GREATEST gift. I will say unequivocally: The greatest gift I got in my life was through the people in my life who rejected, abandoned, deserted and hurt me. No dear universe please ďont bring this test on again because I don't know if I could endure it again. But the lessons I learnt I take with me for life. 💚❤

1. People of impact, not time spent 2. Focus on writing and sending , not whether there would be a response 3. Illustrate the impact
