When the reporters visited them they tried to open a safe of the „cake tin mafia“, needless to say despite the boss claiming that they would open it very quick they worked for more than five hours and still hadn’t managed to get into it when the reporters decided to leave as the mood was getting bad lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hofLipuChpmMbJY If you buy good safes or locks they will be very difficulty to open, if you buy cheap crap or stuff that is first and foremost only meant to protect documents from fire or water then of course it will suck.

No safe is totaly secure it can only slow people down. half the battle is not only how secure the safe is it's how heavy it is to move, how it is fixed to an imovable object (concrete floor/Brick wall) and how awkward it is to get at with tools.
@sirmayhen8307
@sirmayhen8307 4 жыл бұрын
@@wakey87 I was about to say the same thing he only tested for safes and a gun lock box which was the first one the first one is only meant to keep little fingers off of a handgun and any safe in time you'll get into in due time safes are only supposed to slow criminals down because they want to get in and out they don't want to sit there for even four minutes trying to get a safe open that's why they're meant to be bolted down and as of the last safe the Lock pins made of aluminum are meant to bend and disform to make it more hard to get into and the reason why the door didn't come off is because there's a kicker plate on the back of the hinge plate

I think the second and the third safes had some disadvantage. First of all, you had the ability to inspect the inside of them. Without it I'm pretty sure, it would take much more time to locate the weakspots, and destroy them. Also you had the advantage to move them around as you pleased. I think if these would be mounted into a wall that could be a different story. Also I think if people want to keep something safe, they wouldn't put their really valuable stuff into an Amazon Basic stuff. I mean,these safes can be good for like keeping your firearms safe from your children or something, but nothing more.

Actually there's a very good reason for that Sentry safe to have aluminum locking pins. Aluminum has a higher thermal expansion rate than steel, so the pins will expand into the steel in case of a fire, making it seal shut tighter. Fire safes really are theft protection second, fireproofing first.

I used to sell gun safes for Cabela’s. The highest end gun safe safe any big box store sells has the same UL security rating as the cheapest- “residential security container” designed to resist one man with a 3 foot pry bar and a 1 pound claw hammer hammer for 5 minutes. Those are the only tools allowed for that test. You can get in faster just cutting the side off with a circular saw. Safes are the illusion of security. If bad guys know where your stuff is and they have an hour or two, they will get it. Best to not let anyone know you have anything good, and make it difficult to find.

My godmother's brother died some years ago, and my godmother asked me to help her with all of his stuff. We did a lot of cleaning, organizing, dumping and stuff... Among his possessions was a safe very similar to the Amazon Basics safe your video started with. My godmother said she and her friends could not open it and she never found a key or code for it. Now, I AM a very big and strong man and I literally train for strongman. I told her I could take a look at it, and as soon as she handed it over to me, I noticed it felt kinda flimsy... So I just grabbed a hold of it and literally ripped it open. I twisted some metal part holding it shut and literally destroyed the damn thing. I immediately handed it back and said "yeah, got it". I loved the look she had on her face... Inside of the box were important documents, including bank stuff my godmother actually really needed to find!

Surprised I didn't yet see a comment reminding people that just because it's called a safe doesn't mean it's a safe. If you need a real safe you buy one with ratings, and only the last one had a rating and it's for fire. Also if you assume a fire rating gives it a burglar rating like you did on the last one, that's on you. The last safe does have the most practical application, which is to keep documents from turning into charcoal if you have a house fire. The biggest travesty here is being able to market these as safes and not just a box with a lock on it, and the fact that people look at price over product and 4/5 people will buy one of these and feel bullet proof. I appreciate the video I like being able to watch someone do what I would like to do to these products, though if you do another video like this start them all on the ground, the table absorbs so much impact and i'm sure you could take out any part of any of these products in 1 swing instead of several if they were on the ground for the start. If any of the ones able to be bolted down were, swinging at them on the ground is a much more realistic comparison also.

hello, I'm a locksmith. safes are designed to be safe in their environment. if properly bolted to concrete, your efforts would have taken much longer, giving amble time for the owner to come home or call the police. here's a tip, once your safe is disconnected, simply drop it from the highest you can onto concrete. most will just pop open. the bigger the easier. what you are paying more money for is the lock rating. that's determined by how long it takes for a professional to pick the lock. a high rating safe should start around $2,000, and should have a locksmith to install it strategically, like in a corner in a basement floor.

Now lets see you break into an actual TLTR rated safe instead of these sheet metal lockboxes. Would recommend AmSec or Gardall to start with.

You are missing the point of the safe. That last one has the most basic and important safety feature. Weight. The other safes could be stolen but no burglar is going to haul 100lbs with them with the promise of maybe something valuable inside. Also sledge hammers aren't a typical tool for burglary but even if it were a burglar wouldn't spend more than 10 min max trying to get in. Less so if they think someone might be home. So realistically if a safe is too heavy to be stolen then it's already pretty damn secure. TLDR: safe heavy. Not going to get stolen.

Bosnian Bill just discussed safes today. The small ones like that typically have minimal protection. Maybe a 3 year old might have a problem with that lockbox. I'd like to see you open it with Tannerite. Most of those lockboxes have major faults and Bosnian Bill has done numerous videos on them.

One thing I see with a lot of these videos is that most people go for the door when that’s obviously going to be the most reinforced point. The walls on a lot of these safes are generally made out the same gauge steel and can easily be cut through. Obviously no cutting tools were used here but that would be significantly faster than trying to go through the door.

Word to the wise, Safes mainly buy comfort. "A safe only buys you time" if a "bad guy" were going after it in someones home. Most can easily be gotten into. I may have a safe, but i would never trust the safe to keep something safe over an extended amount of time.

He would have a lot more success with that hammer if he used a more sturdy table. A table with less give in it will absorb a lot more of the impact.

Okay yeah a loose safe where your free to move it anyway you please to get leverage, not impressed...now try a real world scenario where the safe is bolted to cement, encased in cement, or mounted in a wall thats reinforced where the only thing thats showing is the door. You say its not worth it for $180.00 but if thats in someones house and is properly installed what idiot is going to spend 20 minutes making all that noise to get into a safe. I think it did its job for that price. Also you had the ability to inspect the inside of the safe before hand, you knew where the weld spots were and the hinge maybe next time try to do it without knowing all of that.

FYI my brother. A GREAT deal of force is lost in striking blows whenever your subject matter is resting on such a flimsy table that absorbs most of the shock. Any time you are using striking blows, the supporting structure of "hammer victim" must a solid immovable object such as your concrete garage floor.
