first! Josh I am new and want to get into cyber security should I go for the help desk route I have no degree and have been looking at the google it support cert and maybe the A+ cert

Check out Josh’s earlier videos. He answers those questions. Google IT & Google Cyber certificates are a great start. Pair that with Josh’s IT & Cyber courses, and the Security+. You can start applying for those roles. Just keep in mind that there’s nothing wrong with starting at help desk. The way the market is now, Cyber roles are hella competitive. Help desk is solid starting point

As someone who’s been in the industry for 8 years. A masters will not help you unless the position requires a specific type or you’re looking for senior level roles. Focus mainly only getting experience and mastering the fundamental technologies for the first 2 years. Also in that time I’d say begin to carve out a niche as the money is aligned with being a specialist vs a generalist. That doesn’t mean forget the other skills though. @gary.s7759

Oh there is a hands-on component where we build a SOC in Azure. There is also a discord community. I think the cyber course is about 20 hours of video, which will probably take 80-100 hours to go through.
