I also love that the requirement for Collab and Super Collab (weapon fusion) are less of a hassle compared to VS.'s Evolve Weapon since the condition are homogenized. Only need to raise both weapons or item to the max and get a Golden Anvil or Golden Anvil+Golden Hammer for Super Collab..

4:53 - same. I can't tell anything about VS characters. Most of them using only for starter weapon. In HoloCure characters have their skills that giving them unique build or at least interesting experience. 6:00 - one of big things I like is waves of enemies. You dont't feel that mobs are random swarm with rare flock of bats and circle of flowers. I like Hololive community for such projects. There are around 250 games at this moment. Most of them are weak or made for Holo Jam (hololive fans game jam) in few weeks. But you can feel their passion. HoloCure, Idol SHowdown, Flare Nui Quest, Delivering Hope, lot of them. Right now in development around 5 fighting games, kart game, few platformers (one of them making by Freedom Planet devs) and i don't know how much more (in one moment out of nowhere was made 5 Suika game holo clones, some of them with their unique mechanics). And funniest thing. "Hey, I'm Kay Yu, announcing new Holo game by my HoloCure team under Hololive official indie games programm that letting fan devs make money on Hololive IP (look, Nintendo, learn!) in Steam... for free!" This guy doesn't care.

Honestly at some point in VS, outside of when I unlock a new character and do a run with them, I just end up using the ones with weapons I like and largely neglecting the passives lol. I'm honestly not even super entrenched in Hololive or the community (I am mostly a clip enjoyer myself), but the amount of dedication that the fans have is honestly insane. I don't know that I've seen a fandom go to these lengths just out of respect for the creators that they like and it's kind of nuts, and even if some of the games are more amateur I honestly think that's fine since it allows people to support holo while improving their own talents. It's all very inspiring to see imo. Kay Yu choosing to make his second game ALSO free just makes me respect him magnitudes more tbh since he is truly in it for the passion or he's just nuts but either way I'm all here for it.

Another VS-like that has aiming is Picayune Dreams, the game is a very surreal experience with a pretty addicting gameplay loop, the items and weapons are displayed with line of code, so you know what stacking certain items does, and your hitbox is a literal dot on the center of the screen, dodging enemies becomes a serious task in late runs. The game is very story driven and it doesn't take long to beat, beside being cheap, i'd recommend whom read this to try it

I can't tell my favorite fan game clearly. In HoloCure I spent more hours (around 200?), since I'm playing from day 1 (update 0.3) to this days. I like fighting games, so my favorite might be Idol Showdown, but I also like HoloVersus, because it's more like Smash Bros (tho it's in alpha-beta yet). I like passion to Flare Nui Nui Quest, but platforming in Nameless so enjoyable (tho game mostly storywise, and not much puzzles). One of the first fan games I've played was SCWU (Super Copslay War Ultra). Fighting game about cosplayers of favorite anime and other TV shows. After that I didn't played much fan games if played ever. Until I opened for myself Hololive and Holo fan games/animations/songs.

I fangame that I think deserves more attention is 7th Stand User, a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fangame set during the events of Part 3, Stardust Crusaders. It's chock full of fanservice for the entire series(up to Part 6, anyway, with a little bit of Part 7 references thrown in there). The premise is you, the player, are the titular 7th Stand User, and you mysteriously get your Stand(decided via a personality test, ala Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) and fate directs you into joining the Joestars on their quest to defeat DIO. I won't spoil any MAJOR pieces of fanservice, but some of your actions can alter the events of the story as well, an amazing example being that if you're close enough friends with Joseph, he ends up fighting Alessi, and you get to temporarily fight him with Young Joseph.

an indie gamethat is very underrated is cassete beasts, it's a monster taming rpg (like pokémon) but it fixes issues you see in pokémon, bosses are challenging, you have difficulty option and you need to think you can't spam A the whole time, the story is also more interesting and the gym leader equivalent don't specialize in a type but in a gimmick so adding coverage to one mon won't allow you to destroy the boss and you have to think, there's also a second type of bosses that uses sprites very different from the one used in the game and each unique to each other, one might look like a JRPG final boss and the other like a stop motion animation making you wonder what's the next one is going to look like (the ost is fire too) truly an underrated gem and one if not the best game of it's genre in the market

Man this just reminds me of the times, it started with me playing magic survival during school breaks then addicting a friend of mine to it, eventually vampire survivors came out and I was like damn that's crazy but then holocure hit, I didn't watch a single vtuber back then but I didn't care, I loved playing it, I beat the 2 stages available at the time then forgot about it, now remember the friend from earlier? he found it again a few updates later as he was a hololive fan, and eventually it quickly evolved into these 3-6 idiots that know each other irl just sitting in vc playing a silly vtuber game with streams on also right before this we were in our the binding of isaac phase again which if I had to say, is exactly what vampire survivors devolves to, the fun and enjoyment of simply breaking the game and watch as it plays for you is done right in tboi due to it's extreme multitude of gamebreaks to even game crashes, which allow you to dr.manhattan your way through several bosses (though you can still die if you don't watch out, looking at you lost mains) , while in vampire survivors you just stay still and watch as everything just walks towards you and gets evaporated, over and over, almost always cycling between the same builds, the main difference being that in isaac you don't always get gamebreaks so sometimes you just have to say fuck it we ball and pray you don't get telefragged by delirium or something lmao or you just play some of the challenges / greed mode or something idk, mods too

Hmm, I don't know if I agree with everything, especially when it comes to tiny details and assuming intentionality or rather lack of it. Also like Golden Eggs seem to be just for "you already did everything else, so here is something to grind you if you want to", I kinda feel like it requiring massive amount of grinding before unlocking quality of life features seems to be a troll/joke thing (hence why I never bothered to grind golden eggs. Whether its good thing or not, I'd honestly bit lean on bad side since I don't think its realyl that funny you need to click buy botton thousands of times after massive grinding (or getting outside software to autoclick I guess) before you unlock "use all your money to buy as many eggs as you can" button) Also like, I 100% agree with that I like indie games that feel like its passion projects where they just do it for fun of itself, but I don't like implying that people who sell indie games essentially "sellout" since not everyone can afford to do do big projects for free(even if they have stable jobs, some jobs are too exhausting to leave time and energy for extra projects on free time) and lot of people who want to make games dream about making what they love as career. I don't think you intended to make that statement, but it did kinda come across like that to me since I feel like people can be rather judgemental of "trend chasers" and ignore that some of them are just people liking the thing they are imitating. (that said, I can still agree with that sentiment about profit & passion, I like watching youtubers who do it for hobby rather than who do it as career because you can tell shift in sponsorships and youtube algorhitmn grind once people do :'D Its very much same thing you were describing)
@Woefool_5 ай бұрын
Firstly wanted to say that I really appreciate how you frame your thoughts and bringing up aspects you may not agree with!! For the first bit about golden eggs, I can see the perspective of it being something of a joke especially with how many other things Poncle include in VS specifically to make jokes or poke fun. I guess my issue stems more from the execution rather than the intent -- Golden Eggs, whether a joke or not, are very clearly important for a LOT of players as a sort of dopamine receptor hit which I don't personally love. Though they clearly are still supporting the game up to this day so with the more patches that they release, my critiques of the endgame will (hopefully) become more and more outdated. As for the second paragraph, I can see how what I talk about can be construed as me dogging a bit on indie games that are trying to turn a profit. That's partly on me for not refining the script more, but I'm also still very new to the whole YT thing so some intent I didn't mean can slip through the cracks. I actually don't have a problem with indie game creators or any artists trying to monetize their craft -- if anything, it's a good thing that people are supported! My gripe largely stems from very blatant examples of trying to hop onto a trend and "cash in" if you will, whether it be through actual monetary gain or the popularity of a certain topic. It's why I used things like Survivor.io and a somewhat notorious trend of horror mods found within the Friday Night Funkin community a few years back. Obviously this is my own assumptions and biases, but in the case of these two examples (particularly Survivor.io which I feel is VERY shameless in ripping off VS while including a bunch of predatory microtransactions and mobile game practices) they do tend to leave kind of a weird taste for me since I don't love the implication that these practices have on the greater community/industry. It's kind of like how back in the day, one game studio did the "online pass" trend to stop people from buying used games and then everyone did it, or like how when Overwatch made a boatload of money with lootboxes, everyone jumped on the bandwagon. I'm really passionate about indie games in particular and when trends oversaturate the market, I find that a lot of the passion projects and aspiring artists ironically end up being buried BECAUSE they refuse to go along with what has been proven to work. If that wasn't conveyed properly in my video, then that's ultimately on me though! And I hope that I was able to elucidate a bit more and sort of explain why I kinda play hardball with some things which to me feel a bit.... Iffy, to say the least. I think integrity matters a lot in all facets of art, so when it all just becomes profit driven or popularity driven is when I get a really big chip on my shoulder. Sorry if I'm a bit wordy I've been having to write scripts for the past few days so it's hard to turn off writer-mode lmao, but like I said earlier I really appreciate the input :).

It had charming character models, voice actors to mimick the show, several references in intros, outros and move lists, sick and satisfying combos (even if you're bad at fighting games) level one, 2 and 3 special moves that you access through a transformation and a cinematic level 3 that, when it defeats the opponent, gives you a specific win screen

snoot game might be the biggest example of this happening I can think of. In case you don't know it's a fan game based on Goodbye Volcano High. Not only was snoot game released before its source material it is also considered to be better than it by most of the community.

This is the best rogue like ever made. Bullet heaven roguelike anyway. It's only thing that holds it back is the content updates. If it had that, nothing would compare.

Yeah I’m in the same boat but considering how busy the dev seems to be while still making so much good shit I’d so much rather he wait and cook than rush out content
@Rekora_Wulf6 ай бұрын
@Woefool_ what? Is he making new games? I didn't know that. The only 2 I saw on Steam were holo cure, and that beat em up. My life just got less bright since I 100 percented the game.

@@Rekora_Wulf no new games have been announced, but Kay Yu’s main source of revenue is as an artist and animator for some fairly popular shows/anime so I am guessing that can sometimes make it hard to consistently put out content for the two he has out now :o

@Woefool_ That's cool to know. Thanks for the information! I hope he still makes more content for it, though, lol.

@@Rekora_Wulf Last I heard it was still planned and in progress, but you should expect a schedule of something like six months to a year between updates (or, something like that). Also something about probably never having all the hololive productions members, simply because they'll probably never catch up with the debuts of new talents.

Kay Yu is such an interesting developer. While I believe he could open a Patreon or something similar to take donations without any legal issues with Cover Corp, he actively refuses to take our money at all. The community that loves HoloCure and HoloBreak both want to throw so much money at Kay Yu, and he just won't accept it. He is an absolute legend.

I admittedly have never been SUPER in touch with Hololive stuff but I keep up through clips and posts online. When Myth came out it was Ina, then Bae and now it's either her or Shiori. All of the girls and guys at Holo are very talented but those are the three I vibe with the most and I feel like those three REALLY tend to innovate a lot and bring new stuff to the table which I really respect.
