A key driver of the company’s superlative success is its laser focus on tailoring the attendee experience for optimal engagement. Here, Hopin’s Senior Product Manager Mel Mete shares why a feature-rich in-app chat is the platform’s top tool to encourage event participation and help event organizers reach their goals.

“One of the most important parts of having virtual events and connecting people, which is one of our biggest objectives and also enabling hybrid events - bringing the physical aspect with the virtual aspect together - is super critical to the core nature of what we’re trying to accomplish with the Hopin product. Engagement is such an important part of that.
We see that when attendees engage in an event via chat or sending each other DMs, answering poll questions or submitting questions in our Q&A section, these are all engagement features. We see that those events are perceived to be more successful by organizers, where organizers are reaching their objectives and that’s super critical for our customers.
The top engagement tool is chat. Across everything that we do have, it’s our bread and butter as it relates to engagement itself, which is one of the most important metrics for us.
