I agree. That was funny. BUT, he did that at the moment that she was calling the dog and the dog didn't recall. You don't fix that with psychology and being assertive. You fix that with TRAINING and teaching recall (come) with hundreds of reps including with distance and distractions. It's called dog training. The psychology is SO important, but it doesn't REPLACE training. It's a prerequisite to training..

Was on holiday 8wks ago! I saw a similar dog! Apparently a rescue dog, but, bad owners with good intentions! Walking her in a remote place because of her aggression! It's about energy "Alpha mentality" I could see the dogs fear, so asked if I could pet her. They said "no, she will bite" I said "loosen the lead she'll be fine!" I kept calm & in control. Asked her name & called her to me & said sit! She came towards me wagging her tail, both of us calm. The woman owner freaked out & the dog tried to nip my ankle & bit the female owner. Of course I corrected the owner first! Explained pack order & asked them to be silent! Asserted inner dominance & the dog became the sweetest cutie! Layer down & showed me her belly,but tail relaxed! The couple said " they've never seen her like that " I gave them a "shh!" 😂 Then, tried basic commands, sit, down etc. She did everything! Bless her! I gave her stroking reward then, she sat & leant up against my leg! I advised them & recommended this channel! Let's hope they learn?

@@qweenkaii04 thank you so much for taking the time to write me. Yes, my little female barks non stop at whoever has stopped by. This makes her brother react, but i can usually calm him down but she’s the the pet I need to stop from barking. It may be the wrong thing to do, but if there are multiple people visiting I sometimes pick her up if she doesn’t stop barking! If they are close friends I have even asked if they would like to hold her…that stops her barking immediately! If they hold her and put her down it starts all over! That’s why I need guidance in handling this situation. I’m willing to put in the effort to stop this behavior completely. I’ve never owned a pet who didn’t love everyone so this has been quite a challenge for me.

@@shirleyspadorcio6182 its np, i really would like to help ppl with their dogs/pets as Cesar does, ive always kinda had a way with them and i see the area is wide spread and Cesar is just one person so if i can help a little its always my pleasure! now the important thing is discipline and making sure you follow through. so if barking when the doorbell rings, BEFORE u open the door deal with the dogs...have calm assertive energy with a firm no(or hey whichever u choose) and a *tsch*(or whichever sound u choose) to let them know ur not having tht barking. u have to assert your dominance. the female is dominating right now, also be careful when pickin them up in an excited state (depending on how u hold her) it can be confusing for the dog. also how often are u walking them? exercise discipline and affection is the rule of 3 Cesar points out for dogs who are anxious nervous or aggressive....
@wolfysays631113 күн бұрын
@shirleyspadorcio6182 By picking her up while she's still barking, you're awarding the unwanted behavior, and the dog thinks she needs to keep doing what she was doing. In this video he said - you invite a dog on your lap (pick on your arms) when it is in a calm state. Keep watching more of his videos on this channel and also "Dog whisperer", and practice, practice, practice.

This is not meant to be sexist, but it seems that a high-pitched female voice like hers is often the problem with dog problems. Women could even lower their register a bit. So often a firm male voice gets thru to the dog.
@Pammellam27 күн бұрын
Yes, that is true. And I don’t think it is sexist. But dogs are also very sensitive to a power balance. And then defer to a male voice. Such dogs need to learn that all humans are their boss which takes time perhaps. And then to follow Cesar’s methods. ;-)
