First off, thanks much for your insight about the US Citizenship interview. I have a question. Could you please answer? When the officer asks as to when was last trip to outside US, you said in your video, that you have the data ready in a handout prepared to answer. Is this allowed? Besides when the social security number & the previous address where one lived are asked, can the applicant see his pre-prepared paper and read out, as it’s difficult to remember the dates and the numbers?

I figured lol. Do you happen to know anything about have conditions removed on residency? If you are married for less than 2 years when applying for a green card through marriage, you are given a "conditional resident card or CR1 residency" and you have to apply to remove the conditions are 2 years by proving your marriage is bona fide. That is the process I am in right now.
@DesiAmericanProfessor4 жыл бұрын
I have spoken about green card and issues in a video only to later told by many that there were quite a few inaccuracies. So I would not want to comment on issues that are not my forte. That said, from what I know, you get 2 year conditional green card and then 2 years later you need to send all the documents proving that the marriage is still going good. I am not sure if they call for an interview again. I think sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. But consult someone more knowledgeable in such issues

congrats prof it's worth mentioning that you should never jump to go to the US or any country if naturalization is your only goal, I've seen a lot of people fall flat when their green card process make them wait a long time, so its best if you keep naturalization in the bottom of your list of life goals.

Now that you have CHOSEN to put your life on public media, i am curious to know your viewpoints on long term relationships. Looks like you are still not married. Would you post some videos on the current state of dating, arranged marraige vs dating, your personal struggles or successes in dating or getting married, issues immigrants like you face with cultural influences when findinf that right person, etc etc etc. Netflix had a documentary on indian matchmaker and i am looking for your views and stories on long term relationships. I noticed that you shyed away from the subject and may be time to put some videos out there. Of course your choice but it may help many navigate this trecherous path. Thanks prof. MM.

Want to point out that there's another reason they ask you the dates and how many days you were out of the country is because "You are only eligible for citizenship after 365.25 X 5 days, after you've received your green card. The number of days you stayed out of USA need to be subtracted from 365.25 X 5 days". So , Total number of days you've resided in the US, from the date you received your green card, to the date of the interview - Total number of days you've stayed outside of US >=1827
