I made some errors in the video. So please read the corrections below. I will be happy to add more corrections when they are pointed out. I will try and be more careful in my future videos about the accuracy of things I say. Immigration process is not my domain. I made this video on request. I will now stick to topics and issues that are within my domain and refrain from talking about topics outside of my domain.
EB2: People even without master degree can apply if they have 5+ years of experience.
EB1B: You must have an employer.
EB1C: H1B visa holders can also apply as long as the criteria of an multinational manager or executive is met. You must have been employed outside the United States for at least 1 year in the 3 years preceding the petition in a managerial capacity. .

Green card rules keep on changing.... focus should be on learning, making money, and enjoying life... and not on Green Card.... almost everyone gets green card eventually... and then they realize it doesn't change their life even one bit..... Enjoy the journey...don't worry about destination...

Ja: Good one. Indians (and Asians) students comes to USA with high expectations. Go with the flow. I came to USA in 1979 for undergraduate egineering education and everything worked out. Therefore, study hard, work hard (part time campus work), party hard (with gf), cheap travel hard (during semeters breaks). If all things fail go back home ( for me it is Bangkok, Thailand). This is my 40th year in USA.

I have a H1b (working in an aerospace company as a senior tech engineer), Phd (from germany), MS (from US) and some good publications but not that many citations (around 24 so far) and I will ask my employer to apply for my green-card. Even when employer applies for my green-card, they will go through it via Eb1b or Eb2 ? Or, is there a separate employer-based green card where you don't need Eb1b or Eb2 categories and we don't need to satisfy the requirements of Eb1b and/or Eb2? My main concern is citations. I will appreciate if you could reply.

@Doug B bruh there is an affidavit of support if the women doesnt make 125% of poverty line and also some women are very nice and doesn't look for rich men...many people get green card out of marrage about 25% of all green cards that gets issued are marriage based. So if you are very good looking Indian the chances are u might actually find a loyal girl and then all u have to do is to love her from the bottom of your heart, never cheat on her after your green card is issued. Most lucky people gets successful at this. U don't need to be lucky in immigration office but u need to be a bit lucky to get a girl.

Sir, I am bit confused regarding few things. Since you are a professor, I hope you can throw some light. 1) Under what circumstances should a person go to US for studies? I have done by bachelors from India (in Non-IT) and working in a decent company. Do you really think its really worth to leave a high paying job in India/or some other country and go to US for masters after spending so much money. 2) Is it just living in the US make a lot of difference in long term. I mean 10 years down the line, will it really make a difference if I am living in India/Europe/US even though I am working at a good organisation everywhere. I mean will simply living or working in US give me an edge.

1) Come if you really want to study in the US and are willing to take that plunge/risk. Get 3-4 years of solid work experience before coming. 2) It really depends on individual to individual and their luck. No one answer that can fit. It is like asking if it makes difference if you work on hyderabad or bangalore or pune? One cannot answer it Sir.

Sharmas in America Hi Sir, Thanks for the reply. I actually have 6 years of experience and work in Malaysia currently. Since, I don’t have masters, I was considering that as an option full time leaving current job. Another option could be to wait for some more years and try to take transfer to US even without going for masters. My colleagues who did their masters in US are also working in the same company and at same position as me. So I was thinking of the risk factor and benefits short/long period of working in US.

Exactly.... Green card rules keep on changing.... focus should be on learning, making money, and enjoying life... and not on Green Card.... almost everyone gets green card eventually... and then they realize it doesn't change their life even one bit..... Enjoy the journey...don't worry about destination...

My aunt in US had applied for f4 visa for my parents which we have been waiting for like 15 years. I'm past 21 years of age so will not probably not be considered alongside them when time comes. Will I be eligible for student visa to US?

There's a big IF there...'if you become a faculty after getting a PhD'....there are way more number of PhDs than there are faculty positions...its extremely competitive and hard to get a faculty position in the US.

n these troubling times when H1B and route to green card is getting tougher for somebody with a Bachelors and 12yrs of Work Ex, Is L1 to EB1C an Option. Is it only applicable for directors or really senior executives or can middle management also apply? Related Q, How do you weigh US Green Card Wait vs say an Aus PR life in the context of a balanced life for a family of 3. @Desi American Professor

I am a Indian student, will be coming in USA for my undergrad (pre medicine) and then after my pre medicine from a US college, I'll apply to a medical school for medicine program. After my medicine I'll apply for residency, will I be able to get a green card soon after my residency (specialisation) ? Like after becoming a speciality doctor in US , how many years will it take to get a green card?

@@chetanbagra2267 Hey man gonna be brutally honest with you, its really really tough to get into US medical schools even if you completed your undergrad in the US. I've pretty much lived here my whole life, and completed all my schooling here, but my family is caught up in the long lines for permanent residency. We filed in 2011, but have not received anything yet. But anyway despite going to undergrad here, you are still treated as an international in the application process. You need to be EXCEPTIONAL compared to your peers to get in especially cause we considered both Asian, an over-represented minority in medicine (its a lot easier for under represented minorities), and international. So please do your research before coming. You'll see that not all medical schools take applications from internationals. There are only 40 medical schools in the US that take applications and every year, there's been a trend of this number decreasing, and only some actually admit internationals every year. It is a lot easier to just do your MS or PHD here in comparison to getting an MD and matching into residency. It is a handful of internationals that are accepted every year at these schools and they have a heavy preference for Canadians. I would just really suggest researching and networking with medical schools so that you're informed.

@@saipamula1953 thank you so much, but if I work hard , get a 4.0 GPA in my pre med and a 520+ MCAT score and also some clinical experiences during pre med , then will I be a strong candidate. Also johns Hopkins medical school treat international students (who have done their pre med from us college) same as the resident students
