Incoming wall of text!!! Yoshis low poke game is weaker than most. His kit is very generic with his better stuff being accessible only from stance. I would keep it mostly simple, sticking to generic d3s or d4s. d3 has a bit of tracking, d4 is faster. Db1 actually gives you +4 on hit. Its the only one thats plus, but keep in mind you will recover crouching. From there though you can attempt a command grab, you could try a rising 4 which is safe on block and has the option for kincho stance or going into no sword stance which i recommend. Unblockable sword sweep is also there. Db4 is cheeky because it leaves you standing while the others put you into crouch. You are -1 afterward but its a good round ender. While in crouch you have df4, which has good range and will CH launch. VERY UNSAFE. dont rely on it for poking pressure or do so at your own risk. From stances, he has a launching sweep with No Sword Stance crounching df3. Kinsho stance gives you KIN d1 which has good range and mini combo on CH with small dash into cd1. There is also KIN 3 which launches on CH and mini combos with crouching df4. In dragonfly there is DGF 3, CH on launch but slow start up. Flea stance gives you FLE 2, knocksdown and leaves you face down heads towards opponent. While back turned he has d1, knockdown on CH. High crushes. Hmm ill add more as i think of it.

one problem i have with this game is that in street fighter i do OS at literally every moment of a match, and if i, for example, do delayed tech on defense in this game i bust out a 69 frame move that hits 10 times so i just get counter hit 40 times in a row

Idk if you’ve learned this already but: 22 Goes into NSS (you covered this already) d22 and hold back goes into NSS HeliStance 24 hold back goes into NSS WS4 hold back goes into NSS Also while in NSS, your full crouch df1 is no longer unblockable, but Yoshi gets access to an extremely long range full crouch df3 that goes into a full combo (doesn’t use screw from what I remember)

My advice is hold back and poke with your b2, 2 at the start of matches since most people who are new to Tekken do not korean back dash or go in aggressively. If you spam db 3 most new players will not know how to counter Yoshimitsu's Manji Spin kicks but keep in mind that Yoshi will get dizzy if you spam it too much, so mix it up with a 4 kick at the end of the chain. When you get used to that try some Kincho Stance moves since Kincho (1+2) has a pretty cool wall pressure move called Spirit Shield which is done by f1+2 after Kincho. Keep in mind that Kincho Stance is pretty punishable so use it for juggles and as a tool to throw off your opponent. Edit: 3,4 checks your opponent and if you hold up, you automatically go into Manji Dragonfly stance, you can follow up with the unbreakable grab for mix up potential. Up 1, 1 back is good for going into no sword stance during combos. I need to do Yoshi's sword sweep more often because I sometimes struggle with decent openers.

What's actually rewarding is when the gameplay is good and promotes deep mind games between opponents, and you actually reach the skill levels required to engage in them. Not memorizing tons of shit and knowledge checking opponents, despite having lackluster fundamentals, which seems to be a LOT of Tekken players. Tekken is good, but it would still be good if it had 1/10th of the knowledge checks and # of moves for each character.
