The only resistance I have is myself. Self doubt, disbelief, negative thinking. No one else is holding me back, but fighting yourself is by far the HARDEST thing in the world. I'm not giving up. Keep moving forward, keep working at it. That's what I got from this video. When artists post things about themselves in the past and how they started out, how badly they did, the struggles they've had to go through, it's all the same: they kept working at it. It's inspiring to see these kinds of videos. Thanks so much for posting it, even if I'm a bit late.

Starting out late is my resistance. I started learning animation when I was 21 and I was an utter beginner. Graduated from university at 24 but I don't feel confident at all to get a job in animation industry so I went to a local college to brush up my skill for a year. I improve a lot on my art skill but frustratingly my animation skill only improve a little (I'm actually putting more effort on my art skill than my animation skill lol). A year passed and now its 2019. I finished the first part of the college and I suppose to continue to the final part but you only allow to continue if the college contact you back. They didn't contact me back and I'm actually glad as I'm facing a dilemma whether to continue or just learn by myself. Yup its 2019. I'm unemployed at the age of 25 and currently dedicating myself to learn and explore the world of animation and improving my art skill at the same time. "If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward." ~Martin Luther King Jr. I don't care what the world say, I will get that dream job no matter what. People can call me delusional and label me anything they want, IT WON'T STOP ME FROM REACHING MY DREAM.

This is really similar to how I got into doing concept art for films. I was always so self conscious and hyper critical of my art until I went out into the real world and people who had been making art their whole lives & were earning money making art kept complimenting my art, that's when it clicked and I knew I could do it. Now I'm studying concept art and I couldn't be happier with my career choice

I really love drawing when i was young until highschool idk what happen i think they got through me and i become cold and forgot that dream and pursuing something that they want me to be... But in the middle of the career school i agreed upon taking ... i made it through from a goal I made to myself that if "I make it through ill find job and pursue my dream"... and now im still going through this process... its really hard to do both but i have to since this dream of mine is really expensive to have...and thanks to you and jazza for uploading and sharing your knowledge that gives me strength to reach my long lost dream.. ♥ hehehe... hope its not to late :)

I'm actually pretty glad that I came across your videos and your channel. I'm trying to get through college to go to a university to become a 3D animator. I'm also an artist and graphic designer as well but my main goal and dream is film animation. I've been in college for about 3 years now and this is one of my hardest semesters I've ever had to endure, and I'm already finished with all of my art courses I had to take for my AA. I did my best with my sciences and I know I did brilliantly with my tests too but this semester still didn't work out well for me and I've been feeling really down about it. Recently, in spite of this, my father has been very discouraging about my pursuit in animation and it's made me feel awful but I'm glad to find some of your videos as it seems to reignite that spark again. I've been too busy this semester to even do animation but its nice to pick back up again and your videos are incredibly helpful and informative and I'm willing to learn and listen to what you have to say. Thank you very much for existing. Its very encouraging to find someone who is also very passionate in animation and is willing to share what they've learned.

hey, I can't tell you what to do with your life but I can say that I do not regret going to university, even though it was expensive. If there is a way to do it without getting into debt, (teaching yourself/ online education / saving up) seriously consider it.

Funny how addictions change but don't really disappear. My cycle looks like this: a very long gaming addiction evolved into a KZbin addiction, which then became a drawing addiction. I dig my toes in animation but didn't enjoy it as much. The drawing addiction disappeared because I realized that my motivation was kinda wrong. (I wanted to earn money really hard by doing comissions, also jealousy reeeaaally motivated me) Plus some health issues because of sitting too long, eating crap and no sunlight. This could have been avoided though. Anyways, now I am addiction free (I think) but I am really sure once I get a Switch I'll be addicted to Splatoon and other games. I don't mind though. Obsessions (can) take you really far though, one guy learned Japanese and moved to Japan because of his anime-obsession (hiding in my room btw), I got pretty decent at drawing and really good at the games I played. Maybe I should obsess about my school grades more lol

what ccountry do you live in and where what countrie(s) are you looking at to study abroad? The whole point of a real animation school is that they TEACH you how to animate. That's like... the whole point. But unfortunately, most prestigious animation schools are actually run as lucrative businesses. They nurture a prestigious name for themselves by only allowing in artists who are already at professional level. They don't train them and instead they get the students to spend their time making animations for them to release under the institution's name - which in turn improves the reputation of the institution even more. And when their reputation improves they can increase their prices to even more colossal amounts. don't even try to get in to one of these places. Go to a university like Portsmouth University. Many of my peers had relatively little experience with animation when they started and were trained to animate. Go to some university interviews and see if you get in. Sometimes the course just needs to balance it's numbers and takes in anyone who applies. If you don't pass their entry requirements, then considering taking a year to work at it Online animation education is on the whole a lot more cheap than going to any university. So that makes me question how much funds do you have at your disposal? If you can't even afford to learn by online means then maybe you should temporarily devote your time to working so that you can save up for an education?

I want to do animation but I feel like I’m not good enough, I know there are many talented people out there and I just don’t know if I can reach there level. I’m only 16 but I’m still scared I won’t have a good career with animation.
