Blake thank you for your video, for so many reasons. Two things struck me- 1) you only give them air for 15 seconds twice a day, that is very useful info! 2) the mystery fish that has randomly appeared in one of my tanks is almost definitely a kubotai that hitched a ride on a plant from another tank! Finally, spawning razzies, woohoo!

i quit the hobby 15 years ago and came back when i saw these at my LFS aquarium paradise on sunny coast QLD in sept last year, set up a co2 planted tank and had fry within 2 weeks. they are interesting little fish everyone should have them :)

i cut out the bottom of a 5Gallon bucket and put mesh on the bottom. that sits in a 20 gallon long, and the fish breed in the bucket and the eggs fall through the bottom. fry swim out and easy peasy. no collecting, no separating adults, just feedings!

One of my favorites. Don't see them here too often. I found them to be quite timid so will appreciate a larger group and hiding spots for sure.

LOL I thought I was the only one who turned a dolly into a rolling fish tank stand 🤣🤣 I have 3 set ups like that and typically one is always in use. Now I feel better 😁

Well I dont know how much success I had but I 've been breding like around 50 of them for last 7 months just using an overflow and a refugium in my sump. When they grow enough I put them back in the main tank. The only thing I did for them was adding some tiny worms for food.

Hi Blake very informative video as per usual. I was wondering if you sell any of the fish you breed?
@jeffkane43916 ай бұрын
Looking great Blake, are you going to offer the larger egg trap as well as the original?
@BlakesAquatics6 ай бұрын
Down the track I might, im just experimenting with finding the perfect size to ship easily, print relatively quickly, whilst still offering the qualities of being larger
@jeffkane43916 ай бұрын
@BlakesAquatics I do still need one of the originals, I should really rectify that. Looking forward to the larger version as well.

Free shipping at the moment if you order 2 😄 code impulse

@BlakesAquatics I didn't use the code, but I did finally get my order in 🤣 thank you ☺️

Ok, man. Can you check my list just to make sure Im on the right track: urine sample, no light, a rock. So all I need now is the fish and a bigger camera..?

nice video would you recommend keeping em with celestial pearl danios? how many of them would you put on a 75 liter aquarium (real volume )
@BlakesAquatics6 ай бұрын
To keep the 2 together would be fine but i wouldnt breed either of them if they were in the same tank just in case. 75l with both could have a lot.. 15 of each, 20 of each at a push
@not_zizou6 ай бұрын
@@BlakesAquatics thanks for your answer I won't try to breed I don't think im capable of lol, 10 of both and probably 10 neocaridinas 10 per week being the shrimp the last group

Thanks Blake, I'll have to give this a try. Would rainwater be close enough to RO water?
@BlakesAquatics6 ай бұрын
When i have collected rainwater in the past it was about 3 tds, very close to rodi. Depends how clean your roof and gutters are but if its low like that then yes id say so
@lisamc11463 ай бұрын
Blake, I don’t have access to RODI water… What about using distilled water and perhaps putting in a piece of one of those dissolving mineral shells?

The Kubotais we now have in Australia are all washed out no matter what lighting we use. There used to be good strains around with really good colour, not worth keeping them these days, just look like grey fish.
@thekingofdiy36476 ай бұрын
Can you switch to workout videos maybe? Transition video and motivational videos? keeping fish simple has the Australian market sown up I think, aquarium co op, prime time have the American market and MD/Aquarium adventures have the Brits, is there a market for another fishkeeping channel?
@BlakesAquatics6 ай бұрын
Could say the same about the fitness market. Most are very saturated but I have a full time job anyways this is just a hobby for me
