how do you film your videos? that first clip was pretty cool.

I mainly used my iphone 11 for timelapse, gopro for climbing clips, and a insta360 one r for 360 videos (the tiny planet clip)!

Yo, sick board bro. I've made one myself but it's stuck at 45 degrees because of spatial issues ahahah, hope it's not too intense. Was going to ask when did you order your holds, it's taken more than 7 weeks for mine to come and seeing this has just made me cry a little :D
@bossclimbs4 жыл бұрын
Hmm... not sure why! I bought my holds on 4/6/20 and they arrived on 4/10/20 which really surprised me, knowing that they shipped from Europe. I expected at least 3 weeks. It came so fast that I hadn't bought any of the wood supplies yet. Best of luck on your order!

what was the insulation for? The wood is already weatherproofed, and one could just use a tarp if they want to protect the t-nuts.
@bossclimbs Жыл бұрын
My uncle suggested it for sun protection. In retrospect, a tarp wouldve been better and more easily secured. Problem I faced is that the foam cant really be secured as tight to the board and can fall of with heavy wind.
@MarkRobertsAU4 жыл бұрын
Great video man, thanks for the details. Just a question about your board being outside - are you worried that it will bend or wear out being exposed to the weather? I'm guessing you live somewhere it doesn't rain very much.
@bossclimbs4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, I am worried that it might bend over time, so we did prime and paint it with exterior paint. I know some others have stained their board, which is probably better. I added the foam board in the back to insulate it to hopefully prevent warping from the heat during the day, but only time will tell. I think a tarp will work well too. I live in San Diego, and it doesn't rain a lot here. Just a lot of sun!
@joegarza4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to butt in here. If you use pressure treated wood and marine grade plywood you'd have a board that would last for years in just about any climate. The exposed nature of the wood might seem like a bad thing, but it also allows it to dry evenly. Use high quality screws as well.

I'm curious about the need for insulation. Is that to protect the wall from warping in the sun?
@bossclimbs3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but in hindsight, just a tarp would do! The insulation kind of breaks down over time, leaving foam mess laying around the yard.

how did you haul back the lumber from home depot with your subaru? ahhaha
@bossclimbs4 жыл бұрын
I had to borrow my uncle's truck for the big lumber and plywood! I think I'd be able to do it with the Subaru too but i'd need to tie it down so much more (and still not feel as secure as using the truck haha).

great job, i am thinking about building one by myself. but the condrete should be in the ground. like you did you can injure yourself by falling on it or stepping against it!
@bossclimbs4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I am going to modify it so that the two side beams support the top of the board rather than at the middle (14 ft 2x4 would do). It sucks whenever I climb on the sides of the board and fear falling and hitting them! Once i change it, those cement posts will definitely be covered up underground!
