A rotation that has really helped me is to have a certain pipe for a particular time of day, as I usually smoke different tobaccos at certain times of the day. Over-all my pipes tend to need less cleaning, have a more consistent flavor and never become soggy.

Just started watching your videos not too long ago. Honest perspectives without the pretentiousness are appreciated. We certainly all do have our flaws, and some of my absolute favorite smoking pipes are not without imperfections. At other times, I surely do love smoking a handsome pipe! We're an odd lot, we pipe smokers!
@Matches86011 жыл бұрын
We really are an odd lot! I used to use our local landfill regularly as I cleaned up brush in my yard. I had a specific "dump pipe". Haven't been to the landfill in a few years and I can't remember which pipe was the dump pipe LOL.

My decent pipes are always available for times when I want a good looking accessory. As I age, that differentiation seems to be fading LOL...I don't care how I look, and I don't care if any pipe gets dirty or damaged.

I have one estate pipe. Loose fitting stem. Hold it together with a small piece of black electric tape. Does the job and nobody has ever commented on it until I point it out. Just goes to show you. If I were younger and just starting to collect, I'd buy nothing but Butz-Choquin pipes. High quality for a very reasonable price (under a hundred). One caution on those, demand to run a pipe cleaner from stem to bowl as some pipes are drilled slightly off, making cleaning a drag. Savs are also a great buy, but if you get addicted, the best ones are expensive. There's nothing wrong with basket pipes either.

Hi! I ordered a savinelli second just like yours out of the danish pipe shop, and it is beautiful, but the draft hole is not centered in the bowl. Did this happen to you with any of your seconds? If so, is there anything different on the way the pipe smokes? Im a begginer, so i only know that its supposed to be a bad thing, dont know if what i feel in the way it smokes is lack of experience or a result of the bad drilling. Thanks!
@Matches8606 жыл бұрын
Wow, I've never seen an off center Savinelli, but I'm sure it happens. Now, I may be wrong, but I think being off center on the sides is preferable to off on the up and down. Anyway, if you notice one side of the bowl always has unburned leaf, that is why. I have such a pipe and simply tamp towards the side that burns LOL.
@lightningstudio1006 жыл бұрын
@@Matches860 honestly, oi my humble begginer opinion, i think it Burns pretty well. Only thing i notice is that towards the end, of the bowl it gets harder to keep it lit. But once again, might just be my lack of experience
