I agree knowing how to use a pressure washer is key. One thing I did notice is that you are spraying right into the fork seals which you probably should avoid. Certainly the rest of the bike will be more water resistant but the fork seals are only rubber

Over the years I've found the sooner you wash the dirt off the better, prevents staining and compounds in dirt time to attach to surfaces.

I have never thought of using roundup to kill the weeds on my bike. That’s an excellent idea. :-). I clean my bike after every ride, but I don’t do near as good of a job as you do. Great video.

5:55 noticed your running the anti-gravity battery. Which cell size did you get? and did you notice a difference in start up times?
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
I’m using the 8 cell (AG-801). It’s a big improvement over stock. Increasing the idle to 2500 also helps with starting. If you’re racing and wanting better dead starts replacing the stock clutch is a must. The stock clutch has a lot of drag when starting in gear.
@wheressu Жыл бұрын
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie Thank you for confirming I wasn’t the only one with a very draggy clutch when starting in gear I thought I was the only one. Must be a YZ thing or something. Thanks so much!
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
@@wheressu Yes, it’s a common problem. The Yamaha clutch baskets wear very quickly.

My biggest problem is cleaning chain lube from rear rim and frame
@tadey97 Жыл бұрын
@zerone9521 you might know that already but lube ur chain atleast 1 day before riding.✌

we use Lucas Chain lube and it doesn’t fling around or anything, it’s our go to lube

I'd skip using a skid plate in the Southeast. I imagine you don't have many rocks unless you are in the mountains.

Hi Donnie, I bought a 23 YZ250FX (mainly due to watching your videos). What wash plug do you use? I’m looking to buy one but want to make sure it works with the NoToil air flow kit.
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
Congrats on the new bike! I use the No toil wash kit that is made to work with the No toil super flo kit. The part number is WK180-53. Here is a link to it on Amazon. amzn.to/45wXyHg

Another Great video! Can you send me the dimensions of the pvc boot rack for washing? Brilliant idea.
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim. The base is 22 inches wide by 15 inches. The legs are 21 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. I used 1 inch PVC because I had it laying around but 3/4 would work too.
@zacharyulbig95327 күн бұрын

Is the wash plug needed for the airfilter
@aliennetwork08 Жыл бұрын
Can I power wash my bike without the air filter cover ?
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
Yes, remove the filter, cover the filter with a plastic bag like a grocery bag, then reinstall the filter with the bag over it. When you’re done washing don’t forget to remove the plastic bag.
@iwatch10hourvideos90 Жыл бұрын
hey i’m about to clean mine up. do you have to cover the carburetor or anything other than the exhaust?
@Mostviews111 Жыл бұрын
Do you spray anything on the plastics to help cleaning it next time.

If I’m going to a muddy race I’ll spray Maxima SC1 under the fenders, on the skid plate and around the engine where mud usually builds up. It seems to dry a bit over time so I don’t put it on until the day of the ride or race.

Hey, where’d you get your Dunlop tire stickers from? If you don’t mind me asking
@DirtBikingwithDonnie Жыл бұрын
I get my tires directly from Dunlop through a discount deal with Hookit.com. Occasionally they run specials where they send you the stickers if your order a certain number of tires, etc. Hookit is a good way to get discounts/sponsorships from various manufacturers.
