that match cut before the sponsor segment is so slick, I'm gonna try it. Hopefully without the ankle injury

Curious as to why bounce the keylight off a reflector as opposed to using a large softbox directed at you from same angle.
@RyanKao
@RyanKao 10 ай бұрын
I find that it produces slightly less specular highlights on lighter skin tones opposed to a parabolic softbox. Either can work, but in my setups, bounced light gives me better results

what boom arms are you using for your 4th setup (the black boom arms that you have that hold the 6x6 bounce on the top and bottom, not the silver ones)

Does anyone know what those 2 black rods Ryan is hanging the diffusion on @ 11:36 are called? & are the Nano clamps included or do I need to order separately?
@RyanKao
@RyanKao 10 ай бұрын
This is a combination of a few things. It’s not an ideal setup, pretty DIY for what I used it for. But basically it’s a simple background pole, with an impact super clamp to mount it onto the C stand arm!

I completely understand where you're coming from with this video, but just a heads up, it's a little bit ignorant to say this is something that "everybody should be able to attain within their own space", when me and most people I know especially in the UK where houses are much smaller, live in places where the only space we have access to are essentially shoeboxes that (and I am not exaggerating) are a tiny bit bigger than 2 of your sofas.. (I'm happy to show you a photo if you want). That's not even talking about the excess equipment you have access to, when I personally have 1 Falcon eyes light, a small panel and a bounce. I'm not knocking the video as it has useful information that I could use at work, but please just be mindful on the assumptions you make about the "average person's" living situation, as you have it quite a bit better than most people I know.

I know I'm better off than the average person, but even my LA apartment is smaller than his room 😅

So what I think Rayn is saying is "find solutions". Don't let the size of the room deter you. Find a way to make your shoebox work for you. I didn't even start with a fancy Falycon eyes light like you did. I used my bedroom lamps. It can be said that the UK is first world. I live in a 3rd world developing nation but I didn't make excuses. Use your living room, find solutions mate.
@nerdyalt30s

@TheMichaelTech it's not a competition of who's the most poor, you don't know everyone's situation and don't assume you know someone's situation just because of the country they live in. Maybe he saved up for years to get that light and his camera? Maybe his bed takes up the entire space of his room? Maybe he only rents out the room and can't use the living room because he doesn't own it? He was politely telling Ryan to take other people into consideration, you've just tried to belittle him for no reason. Get lost "mate".
@NathanVMountain
@NathanVMountain 9 ай бұрын
@nerdyalt30s I was about to say all of that but you worded it better 😂 also you are right I only rent out the room so I literally live in a bedroom with 2 other people and the living room is communal, and everything I have now did actually take me a longggg time to save up for, i was using torches and window light for ages with a cheap phone camera 😂
