Again, a really concise to the point and helpful tutorial. I think bussing the cymbals to a separate bus for the compression yeilds a better result IMHO. That way the drum/parallel bus can be more extreme if needed but not make the cymbals too pumpy. Thanks for sharing the wealth Jon!

Thanks Jon, My favs for my mix template are the stock ReaComp for general Comp and the 1175 for the PP smash, then the Melda Comp for the Master.

a quick tip - you can rename the audio files to start with numbers (order you prefer), so when dragging them into Reaper, they're automatically already sorted ;)

The controls in the Townhouse compressor have never jumped to where you click for me. Sounds like you have a Reaper setting doing something odd. Plug-ins > VST > Knob mode certainly doesn't affect it that way.
