I’m in my late thirties and wish I had this advice in my twenties. I am now on a different path and spent many years struggling due to not finding my passion. But one piece of advice for those of you still searching, if you love your job but find that it doesn’t tick all the boxes, you can still have side hustles and hobbies or even volunteering on the side to fulfill other parts of yourself. Especially if you feel like it would be too tough to leave your job completely.
@theluschmasterinc5 жыл бұрын
yes .. also one of the encouragement I wish I had received when I was younger would have been to explore side hustles while I had my first job because I think it was after that job that I just became more confused at people throwing jobs, learnerships and studies at me that I had no passion for .. which, I guess had me jumping from job to job .. but also, I probably had to go through those things to learn certain things about myself and the life that I am supposed to live .. thanks for sharing ..!

I find it fascinating when people know at least what makes them feel joy. I tried a lot of things, tried college, tried working, but never found joy. I'm 24 living with my parents and just failed again in life. Not knowing what you like it's frustrating. But seeing time passing with no accomplishments and no money it's even worst.

Same girl. I'm 22 and I'm not working atm but I'm using this time to study spirituality, yoga, meditation, chakras and trying to understand why we're all here. I find myself being at peace and then I started watching martial arts videos and I'm trying to get into "krav maga" (best self defense art for women) and then I'll get a part time job to work around my schedule. I have a feeling it'll bring me joy and take away all this feeling of failure. But I'll stop ranting, maybe you can look for a hobby or volunteer. Goodluck 😘

I hope you're doing better now! But if not, it's alright, because your only real job in life is to figure yourself out. That said, I really think the best advice is to try more things and keep going. There is so many things in the world that obviously we haven't tried them all. So, let's experience more things, new sports or manual activities. Have you ever gone hiking? Did you try pottery ? Sculpture? Learnt a new langage? What about teaching young people, carving wood, scuba diving, planting crops, taking care of animals, decorating a room?

You're so right Aileen. I'm just 23 but I've been experimenting with my life for quite a years now until I realised what I really want in my life. I started my career as a supervisor in one beauty company and then got promoted as a beautician and MUA in the same company after went to several classes they held. After that I quit and started my music journey. Work in a music class as a tutor. But then quit. Work as a model and quit. Work as an actress and quit. It's just not I want in my life. And then I took over my family business and never been happier. I never realised that all I want is being close with my parents. Even my financial is way more stable compared to all the works I've done before.

Thank you for that! I'm 22 and due to my personal situation I'm just going to Uni this year. I have this weird feeling that it's really late for me because most of my friends are already graduating and I'm just like...trying to figure out what to do with my life, still having Uni to get started... What I know for sure is that I don't wanna work in all those boring, generic places like corporations and so on. I just feel like it's not something for me even if it's a "comfort zone" option. Just always wanted to do something meaningful and well-payed. I know that in my early twenties, I still have time to find myself and figure out what is the best for me, but it feels like everything best around is already running out of time. Trying to convince myself that it's the wrong way of thinking, so despite of it I'm going to buy a guitar this year and start learn to sing as I always wanted (I think so) and will see if it'll work out. Maybe it's not too late ;) If not, well, I'll try something different again. Btw, lately I started listening to your podcast and girl! I'm grateful. People like you gives me hope. Thank you.

8:15 The fact Aileen made/makes her videos from a perspective of documenting progress, I believe, is one of the exact reasons why Lavendaire is so brilliant and why we connect so much with her! She’s teaching through sharing her own process of growth, overcoming her fears, learning from her failures and celebrating her successes big and small, authentically and in real time. The way she collaborates with and interviews other Artists of Life through her podcast and videos too is beautifully done. As well as the hard work and focus, it surely must require sooo much vulnerability and selflessness to open up like this? Honestly it’s just so special, refreshing and inspiring!

When you said that you were 23 when you wanted to do this and no one supported you, I felt that so much. Even in your twenties, people will still see you as a child, especially when you declare that you're going to chase "some silly dream." I can't thank you and emphasize enough how you followed that up by saying that you believed in yourself and what you wanted to do. I just told my husband recently, "Whatever I want to do, I need to just do it. I can't expect anyone else to believe in me if I don't believe in myself." And a light bulb came on. We are the only thing keeping ourselves from doing what we want to do. It's not easy, but getting started and keeping your eye on the prize when no one else believes in you is the number one thing in pursuing a passion. Sorry, I had a moment. In short, thank you so much for not giving up on YOUR dreams because now they provide the nutrients to essential for all of US (your subscribers) to grow. Thank you.

Today I had an extremely stressful day. Everyone came to me and all the pressures just flooded over me. Then I watch this video. When I saw the last sentence in the video: I am worthy. I am enough. My tears just flood over my eyes... So happy and so moved that you let me know that I am worthy and enough. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this! 🧡 I think I feel the same when you've just started Lavendaire. Next month it's going to be a year since I left my day job and started to pursue my dream. Same as you, I didn't have any income for a whole year, and a very little proof that I'm doing the right thing for me. So far the only thing that proves that I'm on the right path - is my own feeling of joy when I push my own boundaries and create a new character or a new level. I'm just not ready to give up without a fight, without knowing that I've done everything I could. Thanks for giving me hope!

I think you’re spot on with the structured school life and understanding how to operate that to all of a sudden your now in charge of your own “life syllabus” with zero experience. It has definitely caused me some distress, depression and anxiety.

Man, the way you explained what you wanted in your dream life and all that trial and error... I resonate with that a lot right now and I'm so glad you posted this Aileen! I thought I wanted to go into medical school first, but then when I got into a medical science program I realized I didn't love it. Then I wanted to give music a shot and thought I wanted to make music for film, but now I'm not sure. And that's okay! The freedom that comes with the KZbin life sounds amazing though- and that's the next thing to try! Thank you so much Aileen for everything you do!

I couldn’t agree more with trying to find what you really want to do, and experiencing all these jobs until you find what you really want to do. I feel like I’m on the exact same path as an artist and this was so uplifting. I think it’s important to learn how to enjoy the process and actively do what you set yourself out to do!

I am 29 y.o, just got back from a 3 month-long dream trip that I worked so hard to be able to afford, and now I'm back home, without a job, trying to figure out my next step. All I know is that my dream life looks so much like what yours looked like: being able to have control over my time, doing it from wherever I want, and to have a meaningful impact on the world; except that I literally have no idea what I want to do and it's frustrating. I guess I just have to try SOMETHING but I can't figure out what. Anyway, I just needed to get it off my chest. Thank you for this video, at least it's good to know that not being sure of what to do happens to everyone and that people end up finding what they're meant to do. I hope this happens to me too.

OMG this is such a powerful video for me. Right now I'm in a transition as a creative, I'm an introvert too. I was working in a corporate office, just recently in a super-dry, mundane desk job, I started showcasing my artistic, photography, and graphic design skills until the company created a new role me - but I knew it was still stunting my growth. It still wasn't enough. I just quit for a higher paying job 2 days ago that gives me more freedom, more acceptance to be creative and innovative - and pays higher!!!! Right now I'm on a new journey in my life. AND CONINCIDENTALLY, I found this video and it makes me feel at ease knowing this is the right path for me. Even when everyone else says its a huge RISK.... The payoff will be amazing.

you know what you are absolutely right (at 9:19), I am actually at that point right now where I know what I want to do, as much as people may think that it is a joke or I am just playing myself and my whole life, but I know that I have arrived at where I need to be and I have found the platform that I want to create for - to the point that it doesn't matter to me what other job I am doing in order to finance my journey .. two years ago, I left a job that didn't quite serve my vision anymore and I felt like I reached my destination there and all the knowledge and skills I needed to learn were at capacity - because they couldn't really take me further than that - and I appreciate the time and resources that they have invested in me - but I needed to move and for the past two years all I have been doing is 'trying to figure it all out' until I dove deeper into youtube and started learning more about the platform and what it takes to become successful on it .. I then proceeded to understand that my need in life is not to just get recognition and perhaps a large paycheck at the end of the day (on youtube) but my purpose is around inspiring others to bring out the greatness that is inside of them - and that is why I appreciate your channel .. because it is somewhat aligned with what I have envisioned as my future .. I am actually quite glad that I came across your channel a couple months ago and I have to admit that there are certain aspects that you have encouraged and inspired me to go for .. so thank you for your sacrifice and not giving up on experiences that have led you to where you are today .. may God continue to bless you!! all the best for the future ..! x theluschmaster

It's such a perfect timing to see this video since I feel lost and don't no what to do with my life recently. I'm having a pretty good job right now, but it just doesn't make me feel happy and it doesn't give me the life that I want. Thank you for giving me the courage to step out and try to find my own way ❤️ Though it might take some time, I'll still try and listen to my heart. Hope I'll find it soon✨ Thank you again for what you have done, Aileen! ❤️

I wish we could sit down and talk some time. Everything you said in this video is what I am also going through for years. I keep switching jobs and everybody keeps telling me "you cannot always do things you like in life", but I disagree. I refuse to work from 9 till 5 and 40hrs in the week, 5 days a week doing something you don't like. I'm not a demanding person, I just want to do something that I really like which I haven't found yet and nobody seems to understand that. Everybody thinks I'm complicated and too demanding and to be honest, I am still unsure what path is right for me. That's what brought me here. But it feels good to hear you saying the things that I also believe in. In a world where everyone is against you, hearing someone saying the things you also believes in is just gives me a happy feeling. You really want to help people. Well, keep it up. You're doing a great job! This is the first vid I saw of you and I'll subscribe right away to check your other vids too!

Oh my goodness Aileen, it's so true. Even when we fail and feel like we are starting from zero, it's not really zero. I just shared on my insta today. Thank you for this, life took many turns and I'm still trying to figure it out but with every failure, I feel one step closer. I might take longer than others being 34..but maybe I'm a late bloomer. hahaha! :p

Hi, Aileen. First off thanks for this car vlog.! I was so impressed by your candid and sincere talks. I really want to work on what I love and what I want. Some people say things going to be bored and hard if it became your job but I’ve never had a job what I want. I just flowed my major and I thought I have to do at that time. But sadly, it didn’t fit me but I’ve worked over 6 years on that job. I hoped I could get used to it but it was getting harder and harder. Eventually, I quit the job because of some occupational sickness. I didn’t any work for almost 2 years. Getting treatment and going see a doctor.. these are only what I did for that period. I wasn’t completely recovered but I wanted to do something. Because I was worried about getting old, my career, my future. So I choose a new job that similar to my past job. Furthermore, I cost quite a lot of money to learn a new technic and prepare my new business. But there’s no joy, nothing’s changed, even it was worse than the old job. Everyday, I was like ‘I want to go back to the moment before I made this decision.’ But I realized that one clear thing is there’s no way to go back to the past and to change the things it already happened. So I made up my mind to be positive and I started searching a video which be able to help me, help me to try again. And then I met you. I met Lavendaire. This is such a lay of sunshine to me everyday. I’m so grateful for all of your videos and especially this car vlog is what I‘ve really wanted to hear. I’m still afraid to fail again but thanks to you now I know that I don’t want to settle here so I should keep searching for my dream. I’m willing to give it a shot. Actually, today, I’ve already organized something.! Aileen, thank you so much again and I just wanted to tell you the Lavendaire’s amazing effects that I’ve experienced. p.S) I’m Korean. I’m learning English but I still have a lot of things to learn. Nevertheless, I watch your video’s and translate by myself because I really want to know what you say. And now I‘m writing a quite long message to you. I know I made a lot of mistakes but I hope you hear me well.! From. Jenna:)
