Thanks. Had been considering the R&G engine protectors for my Tuono and Diavel but had never seen anyone talk about the build or ease of installation. With your assistance, I've now racked up another charge from Twisted Throttle, my local supplier. Plus rad and oil cooler protection to supplement the sliders I already have. Personally, I appreciate these vids as much as the riding ones.

I went on an R&G shopping spree as soon as I bought the tracer. Grill, 4x crash bobbins & a couple of fender extenders, cost a fortune but worth it for the added protection.👍

Had an R&G rad guard on my versys for ages. Had to remove one side of the the fairing which was a pain. Going to get some bungs. Not sure what those carbon protectors are offering. Always enjoy these type of vids.

i had them fitted to my Ducati (rad guards). My only negative was that they did increase running temp in real hot weather. One year in the south of France I removed them mid tour as the bike ran scarily hot. It did make a difference not having them on. For the average UK summer I suspect it would be fine.

It amazes me that bike manufacturers sell bikes without rad guards. Radiators are quite delicate and certainly need a bit of protection. Nice video as expected.

Great additions to your bike, not only do they protect but they also improve the look in my opinion! I didn't quite get the whole reasoning behind 'adding weight to your bikes' though - my own experience is that these things weigh in grammes, not kilogrammes. Surely the protection factor alone makes that worth it, and that's without considering how cool they look. You should stick on some R&G front fork bobbins, those look awesome IMO.

Great job. Just be aware that sometimes small stones can get trapped behind the guard and grind away at the radiator. Worth checking for occasionally.

My Ninja 400 has nothing below the radiator so the lower engine and downpipes are exposed to all the front tyre throws at it. R & G do a grill for that area so I think I may invest in one. Looked good on yours.

I’m really unsure about these radiator guards. Yes they do the job in terms of stopping larger bits actually damaging the radiator, but as a fellow OCD bike cleaner, they didn’t do anything to stop the mud, flies and road grime getting through. More importantly though, my bike ran between one and two bars hotter on the temperature gauge. Modern powerful bikes need a serious amount of cooling, and I doubt these products think that through properly.

Just fitted some R&G crash bobbins to my bike , One thing that confuses me - they are handed left & right . I've always worked on right hand hand side as you're sat on the bike , You stated you fitted top Rad guard from right hand side but I consider that to be the left . which is the right way of looking at it ?

You got some good stuff there, when you used the degreaser on the radiator face, a small toothbrush or one of the missus' make up brushes would have got the gunk out of the games without harming anything, it works cod I had to do it on my old Suzuki Water bottle rad 👍👍😎

Those carbon engine guards might secure with double sided tape ,if you use it properly . That silicon might make a bit of a mess if you take them off

When I dropped the bike a couple of years ago one of the engine cases had a very slight mark on them so I think (a) this covers that and (b) if I drop it again I won't get further damage on the engine cases....

The crash bungs are a pain in the ass to fit. I ended up removing mine,!!!! the lads in ducati tri-options cup were causing more damage with them fitted, ie cracking engine casings. Just somthing to think about.

I took my carbon engine cover off didn’t like the look as they don’t match the DP carbon and didn’t look straight on the engine casings, them brake hoses could do with a good clean👍

The radiator guards do look good. But I must disagree with others here, the carbon/Kevlar covers look terrible. Not even cut straight as seen at 13:51. No place for R&G logos on this beauty, Only Ducati Performance parts for a Ducati, bit more money but worth it. Also when did the 899 get it’s Termis? Must have missed that Vid. Great content as usual.

Why any manufacturers sell new bikes with no radiator protection is beyond me. Often it's just an excuse to flog you extra stuff and extract more of your hard earned. First thing I fitted to the MT10 was radiator and oil cooler guards.

For someone as "Anal" as you regarding bike cleanness ,I thought the nut and bolts looked abit grubby and maybe a little corrosion. I spray on a little grease(poundstore),just to keep the original finish.Another thing I always do when I,v got my fairing off my RT is spray the exposed metal bits that are under cover, I just HATE to see rusty bits...Although I am not a regular cleaner like you ,I am a long term looker afterer ,like I say I hate to see rust...Having orginal finish at tradein time helps alot!!!

Pete D I damaged the radiator on my ‘17 S1000R, while fitting a rad guard - had to trim a small plastic tab above the top mounts and slipped with a sharp knife (I really should not work on my bike...). Replacement radiator had to be ordered from Germany and AU$1400 plus fitting costs.
