Thanks. Had been considering the R&G engine protectors for my Tuono and Diavel but had never seen anyone talk about the build or ease of installation. With your assistance, I've now racked up another charge from Twisted Throttle, my local supplier. Plus rad and oil cooler protection to supplement the sliders I already have. Personally, I appreciate these vids as much as the riding ones.

i had them fitted to my Ducati (rad guards). My only negative was that they did increase running temp in real hot weather. One year in the south of France I removed them mid tour as the bike ran scarily hot. It did make a difference not having them on. For the average UK summer I suspect it would be fine.

Great additions to your bike, not only do they protect but they also improve the look in my opinion! I didn't quite get the whole reasoning behind 'adding weight to your bikes' though - my own experience is that these things weigh in grammes, not kilogrammes. Surely the protection factor alone makes that worth it, and that's without considering how cool they look. You should stick on some R&G front fork bobbins, those look awesome IMO.

I’m really unsure about these radiator guards. Yes they do the job in terms of stopping larger bits actually damaging the radiator, but as a fellow OCD bike cleaner, they didn’t do anything to stop the mud, flies and road grime getting through. More importantly though, my bike ran between one and two bars hotter on the temperature gauge. Modern powerful bikes need a serious amount of cooling, and I doubt these products think that through properly.

I used an R&G radiator guard on my Tiger, it was a great fit and easy to do, but I had to pay for mine hahahahaha!

I wonder why R&G changed their two engine covers to these....they had different versions of ones..

For someone as "Anal" as you regarding bike cleanness ,I thought the nut and bolts looked abit grubby and maybe a little corrosion. I spray on a little grease(poundstore),just to keep the original finish.Another thing I always do when I,v got my fairing off my RT is spray the exposed metal bits that are under cover, I just HATE to see rusty bits...Although I am not a regular cleaner like you ,I am a long term looker afterer ,like I say I hate to see rust...Having orginal finish at tradein time helps alot!!!

Yes I completely agree - for some reason the Ducati fasteners aren't as good as on my other bikes....maybe I should do a replacement round, pains me to think you spotted that!

@@TheMissendenFlyer forgot to say the guards look really good.but the finish on them bits is never as good as stock bits so I would certainly spray the inside with something ,or you will get corrosion ..

That lower rad was really starting to look tatty, well worth doing. I hate to think what a new one would cost, Japanese replacements are expensive never mind Italian.

Pete D I damaged the radiator on my ‘17 S1000R, while fitting a rad guard - had to trim a small plastic tab above the top mounts and slipped with a sharp knife (I really should not work on my bike...). Replacement radiator had to be ordered from Germany and AU$1400 plus fitting costs.

@@brianglendenning1632 I'd have thought for that kind of money you'd be in the realms of having one made bespoke locally.

Good grief! For what they charge for these bikes they couldn't have put them on at the factory?
