You have a great setup there and I wouldn't say you were exactly homeless. When you have laid your hat is your home and I think you guys have figured it out and I enjoyed watching your video. You can actually refill those little green propane tanksfrom a 20lb tank but it takes an adapter. They're about $15 for the adapter but they bring the cost of the green tanks down from about $3.50 each to about 60 cents each. I use the green tanks often so the adapter has definitely paid for itself time and time again

I watched both parts of this video. Anyone considering living in the woods should considering getting a tent with a wood burning stove. The stove provides dry heat which can be used for cooking plus there is free fuel in the woods. Watching videos of homeless people living in the woods I don't understand why their camps are so messy and unkempt. You don't have to have money to be clean! The livestock and the mouse would have to live outside.

@thelisajourney videos Massachusetts, and yes we get some crazy winters. I'll do a video on this, i have to update a lot ive just been working a lot. Quick tips: wrap your tent in heavy duty tarps to insulate. Have your tent on a thick bed of leaves or pine needles to stay off the cold ground. Heat rocks in fire and bring inside, boil water in glass bottles for your bed wrap at night, propane lanterns are great too, just make sure to vent for fumes. I'll make a vid soon, ill carve out some time this week. I gotta bring a lot of my tiktok content over to this channel too.

Look for secluded areas that others don't know about. Most regular people won't bother your stuff if they stumble across it (hunters, hikers, dog walkers if you're in the woods). So try to find a wooded area people don't go. Alternatively, you can put a small suitcase lock on your tent zippers. It'll be enough of a deterrent for some. Seclusion is your best bet tho

@lessthanahome 2 жыл бұрын
Line cook, i was able to save during the summers but during winter i was wasting so much money on those little camping propanes. I ended up realizing my error too late when i eventually switched to the bigger tank. Credit score was our biggest barrier because in ma it matters a lot with rental applications, plus they want you making 3x the rent. We ended up saving up and moving to a neighboring state that didnt care so much about credit score and gave us a chance. My new job pays me 5$ an hour more than my old one. I work and pay rent (1250 a month) and my fiance stays home with the baby aside from the occasional waitress shift. Thats her pocket money and time out of the house tho. Gives her a break. Things are much better these days. I'll do an update video soon and also im going to make a "surviving homelessness guide" series of videos when i get some free time. I appreciate you watching the videos. Have a good day bud

Hey bud thank you. So a lot has happened since, we had to ducks until maturity and they had babies. All of them are now living on a farm with a big pond living their best life. I felt guilty keeping them any longer when I didn't have all the things they'd like. Also we had a baby ourselves, got an apartment and moved out of state. We're about to start a new channel on tiktok (it'll be a series here) where we trade a birdhouse up to a real house. Hopefully that Pans out and we can get our own pets again one day 🙏🥰 . Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'm going to make some more hopelessness advice videos coming up soon too

True. But they were easily replaced. The closest store only had paper so we could change them out often. We ended up getting a traditional welcome mat. These days we do have a place. Been a long road and i work constantly now just to pay the rent, but alas everything i love is now taken care of ❤️ 💙 💜

@@lessthanahome I'm definitely not saying I dont understand where you're coming from; life is a bitch. I understand completely 😩 what made me ask was that everything you spent and went through to make that like it is? I'm welling to bet it was 1st months rent/deposit somewhere. Even assuming you got it slowly a piece at a time. I mean its just an observation, but like 1200 bucks is definitely enough to get you started

Anyways, I found your video to begin with, so I could figure out how to hide my tent from people/the police 😂 I wanted to get some shots of the milky way 🌌 and I need to be able to camp to do that but it's one thing to just find a camping video, I needed to see how to do it without being noticed so and I watched your video

@@Leoprincess3038 actually, I'm not 100% where your from but even a studio apartment is at least 1k per month around here (Massachusetts). With the set up it was built up over a long time. If you look at the introduction video we only had an 8 person tent. So it was slow upgrades over time. I do get where you're coming from and we were Saving money throughout the whole journey as well. The apartment we're in now is 1200 a month and was 2400 down, in Rhode Island 🏝

Going homeless soon any tips?
@lessthanahome
@lessthanahome 2 жыл бұрын
Don't waste money on hotels unless a rare 1 night treat to shower and stuff. Get a good camping set up. Visit churches and ask for supplies, dont be above pan handling if you have to, eventually try to get a job. Blend in. get a single partner or small group but mainly stay away from the larger homeless population.

There is always somebody doing better. May be a step up i live in my car. Solar generator is good. I have tool batteries they charge up faster than battery power banks. Bout the same as your solar gen plug into the wall maybe. I got fast charger for work. Getting a van but in my car can watch my tablets for free use emulation to play gamecube games and ps2 games. Also have a switch but tiny compared to my tablet. But you still have it better than some. 2024 going to be worse i think. We got biden still.
