Your videos inspired me to build my own propane fired kiln converted from an old electric kiln that was destined for the dumpster. I just had my first successful reduction firing! Thank you for your insightful videos as always

Thank you for always sharing your process for us to learn along with you, the good and the bad. No one need correct you, Simon, because you are an honest teacher & craftsman, committed to exploring and learning every day. Even after decades of experience. In my opinion, this is the mark of a real master! - Noel

It’s a dance for sure. sound, flame , temperature rise and stall. Thanks for giving us your thoughts on this. ! I find after 1900F in a small kiln like that it’s easier to control this process than a larger up or down draft. Larger kilns take a while to stabilize after gas or flu adjustment. All I have learned started with Simon’s teachings ! Thank you Simon !

How long do you stay in reduction? I’m considering converting an old kiln, but I also worry about how long I’ll have to babysit the kiln for each firing.
