Try to bring it to 1 hp, put it to sleep, and just keep throwing balls. Even the lowest catch rate Pokémon will eventually get caught!

*Tips in order to evolve Feebas into Milotic in R/S/E without (also possible with dead battery):* - Catch 2 Feebas on Route 119 (1x male & 1x female). If you have a Ditto already, you only need 1. - Breed Feebas until you have one with the nature of Mild, Rash, Quiet or Modest. - Get the Everstone from the Granite Cave and give it to the one with one of the natures above. - Breed a second Feebas with Mild, Rash, Quiet or Modest in the opposite gender. It's a 50% chance with an Everstone. - Obtain the HM of Waterfall & use it on Route 119 to pick up the 4x Hondew berries. - Fly over to Rustboro City and go onto Route 115 & surf over to the island in the north and pick up the 6x Kelpsy berries. - Go to the Liloycove Contest Hall and save before blending. - Blend 8 of these 10 berries into Indigo PokéBlock level 23. You need 8 because Feebas evolves at Pokéblock level 170. - Pick up the 4x Hondew berries & 6x Kelpsy berries in a different savefile of R/S/E. - You need to play through Ruby or Sapphire regardless because of Latios/Latias so it's convenient.

I've barely started with some legendaries here and there, purely to mimic Pyramid King Brandon. For Ghost/Steel/Rock types, Soak is great to bring False Swipe/Super Fang into useful damage, as well as taking Spore immunity away from Grass types (Gen 6 onwards), I opted for a Damp ability Golduck for this in Gen 9, as it also prevents Self-destruct and Explosion (Not Memento, thanks Spiritomb!). Loving the series! The pokeball only is kinda mental, and it is interesting to see random pokes being ridiculous to catch for no good reason, and others with a 3 out of 255 catch rate just, take 2 balls.

To avoid recoll damage you could use a shedinja : ) I like more paralyzing than sleeping legendaries, so once paralyzed going for shedinja that just can't die against most of the legendaries is pretty convenient. The mon has access to some utility moves like false swipe, anti heal, rage, and more. Even tho anti-heal isn't available in gen3.

That’s a good idea! I usually prefer sleep over paralysis because sleep always has a higher catch rate!

I am doing my own little challenge in which I am catching every single legendary pokemon from every single game with a premier ball, gen 1 and 2 in a pokeball cause there wasn't any premier at this time, and anyways as you say in your videos, it doesn't transfer the ball for gen 1 and 2. It is pretty cool watching at your adventure, so I am here waiting for the next video : )

Im also attempting one of these. I mainly just go for whatever pokemon i feel like instead of going by generation. Lol. The only change to the rules for mine is that instead of getting each pokemon as earliest as i can, I have to get them from their debut region. (Ex. Rhyhorn and Rhydon will be caught in kanto, but a Rhyperior has to be from the sinnoh region.) This is a really awesome series, so keep up the great work!

The last true hurdles I have for my FULL Premier Living Dex is evolving all forms of Alcremie and a few legendaries. The only exclusions of course being the Paldea starters, Rillaboom line until he comes to a Raid in SV and the non-catchable Mythicals, Zarude, Magearna, Marshadow etc so this series is stupidly satisfying to watch.

One resource I recommend to keep track of a living dex is Austin John Plays HOME Living Dex Tracker. It’s very comprehensive and has several versions depending on what kind you’re going for (full, no gender differences, no form differences, etc.). Even has where you can find that Pokémon from SwSh to SV if you just want to do it on your Switch

Currently working on a living dex (minus gender differences but keeping alt forms such as deoxys N/A/D/S forms) that also includes extra legendary pokemon that you can catch in the post game of the various generation games (i.e. ho oh and lugia in FRLG/E or all of the dynamax adventure pokemon) and pokemon from their remakes (catching all 151 pokemon in frlg and all 100 johto mons in hgss). Currently done with everything in heartgold and im about to start soulsilver soon for the few version exclusives. Its been a fun ride and while im only like halfway done ive had fun re-exploring all of the games and what made them special in their own ways

@@ThedomiNATIONhaha I get it. In my opinion, using the Pomeg Berry Glitch is not as legitimate as using recreated event cartridges, so I guess that makes my method easier. For the Normal Forme, I got a Deoxys from the Space Center event, and for the other three I caught them in the games they came from. Since I like using the canon names in my save files, my Deoxys from FR has the OT Red, the Deoxys from LG has the OT Leaf, and the Deoxys from Emerald had the OT Brendan. I’m going to Shiny hunt the Deoxys from my second copy of Emerald using the RNG glitch in that game. But regardless, I can’t wait to see the Sinnoh video!

I’m doing something *kinda* similar to this, getting every Pokémon in their earliest (reasonable) available region, with competitive natures and preferred abilities, and running them through the all leagues I can to get the different titles for em. Up to gen 4 atm. Things have slowed down a lot mostly cause I found out my copy of Platinum had a hacked save file with a load of EV items, rare candies, and PP maxes, so I’m getting everyone their best moves all maxed out as well, and 100 evs in each of their best stats. It’s so time consuming but I don’t wanna waste all this stuff I got given just from someone else using an R4 card 😂

@@ThedomiNATION Well I’m only using up all the EV boosting items I found on this save file, about 900 of each, so only half-way EV trained, and only for the Pokémon I’m getting pre-gen 5. After this I probably won’t spend the time to get their best moves until later gens when it’s so much easier. A lot of levelling will probably be done in games with the full exp share. But yeah it’s real time consuming. I decided to make life difficult for myself early on by catching Groudon and Kyogre in Ruby/Sapphire without the Masterball so I could save it for the roamers. It was hell 😭

Are you familiar with using corruption eggs to run code in the PC boxes? You can access the Birth Island event with the English copy. If you corrupt Dots ( 17 HP EVs, 6 Attack EVs) and Pluses, a good egg from this corruption allows you to run code by renaming the PC boxes. If you hatch the egg in the Mauville city Pokemon center, talk to guy with spiky hair and he will give you the aurora ticket via mystery gift. Congrats on gen 3! Looking forward to gen 4! I'm working an origin dex of my own and that's how I got Deoxys.

for the past year i've been working (slowly) on what i deem the living ball dex, aiming to catch every pokemon evolution family in every possible poke ball, with every form represented, including shinies, with the sole (hopefully obvious) exception of spinda. it's stored across 5 shining pearl save files, one legends arceus - i'm counting all LA balls just as strange balls until they show up in another game - three shield saves, two violet saves, and 197 boxes in Pokemon Home - of which is solely holding alola formes and gen 5/6/7 pokemon. I'm also aiming for every origin mark to be represented, and every nature to be represented when reasonable or possible. it'd be every single pokemon period if there were any reasonable way to store it all without 3 pokemon home subscriptions and rebuying diamond - that one's owned by my partner digitally. as it is the only thing that makes it reasonable in the first place is that you can access all save files on all profiles on the same switch with home, which discovering made me drastically scale up the original project that was just johto + beast + dream + safari + sport + master. it was on hiatus for a while because i was levelling up the safari zone in soulsilver.

Man, I gotta say, the method you used to get to deoxys was tedious. In the English copy, you can do the pomeg glitch to simply trigger the event that gives you the ticket(s), setting all the flags. Very quick, I got both mew and deoxys tickets in a comparatively short amount of time.

For Deoxys you should’ve just bought a flashcard, downloaded the event code that someone uploaded from the original event distribution cart and distributed it to your game. And you could’ve just done the cloning glitch in Emerald to get your multiples of Deoxys you needed.

Question: for the fossils from the Spanish version, are you able to instead just give a fossil to a Pokemon to hold then trade the Pokemon over and revive the fossil in an English game to get the names correct? Not familiar with Gen 3 trade limitations.

Just a thought (no clue if it’s right) - I wonder if for those fossil types you bred those versions in your original game to get the naming convention that you’d like. @ThedomiNATION Thanks :D gen 3 took me ages, had to do 3 emerald playthroughs for the jhoto starters and 3 fire red/leaf green for the legendary beasts. I found software to upload the saves from a legit cartridge to an emulator to activate the old events, which is how I got deoxys but you can't change the form in gen 3 also got Mew, celebi, jirachi, lugia and ho-oh events that way too

The rules for my living Dex are to catch them in their earliest generation possible. So ORAS wouldn’t count for me. But those are just my personal rules! You can do a living Dex anyway you like and catch the Pokémon from any game!

Unless you hack or dns glitch them in, you cant get the gen 4 mythicals in dpPt. You can however get darkrai, shaymin, arceus, manaphy, and phione in legends arceus, but they will have the "caught in hisui" tag unless you got them at the time of events in bdsp, and arceus is legitimately available in bdsp at spear pillar after catching dialga/palkia if you have caught arceus in legends arceus with the same user

I kinda want to do this, but more like a shiny living dex, but not from their original games, I’ll catch them in newer games if available, but all different forms, and trying to get them all in premier balls as well. On and also I’m trying to get all genders even though they don’t have differences.

I didn’t want my 4 deoxys from my living Dex to be clones of each other. Feels a lot more complete when they are all unique and don’t share the same stats, nature, and PID!

I LOVE this series! It can get a bit tedious at times but you never cheese it and stick to the rules of the challenge, well done man! I have never owned the gen 3 games nor a DS Lite, so I'm not sure how to continue my collection with this gen. I own Alpha Sapphire but then it's actually gen 6 and even then I won't be able to catch everything with just this game, so I hope they'll eventually add these games to the Virtual Console on Switch.

Maybe one day you’ll be able to buy a ds and a gen 3 game but for now there’s nothing wrong with using ORAS! Do what you can and adjust later depending on what happens!

Good luck! Unfortunately I don’t think they’re adding the originals to the switch. I feel like they would’ve added them by now if they planned to and Pokémon company is pretty strict on how save files work in order to prevent duplication. Having them tied to a cloud based system that’s only accessible through a subscription is probably not something they want

Can someone explain the relicanth swift swim issue to me?

Relicanth gets an ability called rock head which prevents recoil damage. This is nice for trying to catch them in pokeballs as they get the move take down and if you bring them to 1hp, they can’t kill themselves when they use take down. Unfortunately this one had its other ability so I wasn’t able to attack it as much and since the last one took like 20 balls to catch, I figured this one would take forever to catch

You just buy most of them. To get the apricorn balls you can either rarely find them at auctions for a LOT of money or you can very rarely get them as rewards for winning an academy tournament.

I remember naming EVERY Pokemon I transfer to fix the caps letters, I must have missed that they get fixed automatically? During what transfer does this get fixed? Also great video :)

It gets fixed once moved into bank! But some Pokémon are weird. When I did gen 2 it sent Mr. Mime up as MR.MIME and I noticed the farfetch’d I sent up from gen 1 has a different apostrophe than the galarian one I had

Finished watching these 3 videos, I recall doing the pomeg berry glitch for Deoxys, but absolutely did not have to do any of that battle tower stuff?? It certainly didn't take 20 hours, and was just on a normal USA cart. Gen 3 ACE, super easy, very powerful. There's a list of codes by Merpp that allow you to do stuff like unlock birth island and make deoxys reappear every time you want another one for the alternate forms (I did the gen 3 dupe glitch to get my extra deoxys instead once I got the first lol) EDIT: I see from other comments that the method wasn't available for English copies at the time you did this. When did you stream this/start the challenge? I did deoxys a year ago and the sources I used was posted in 2020.

After watching almost everything in your channel I wanted to fix my living dex just like you did it (everyone with my name and from their debut game) But I have a dilemma if anyone can comment on it. What about Remakes? I want to do something balanced between Virtual Console and Remake mons. I was thinking like the first Pokémon in line to come from VC and the rest of the line from the remakes Or viceversa Or go all in and catch everything twice Idk how to organize the first two gens

That’s a tough one. I like having consistency so I want all of the Pokémon from the original generations. FireRed and LeafGreen are not gen 1 games and are in fact gen 3 games. So with that in mind I would count say a treecko I hatched in FireRed for my gen 3 living dex. It can get a bit messy trying to include as many games as possible so that’s why I’m not including remakes. A little spoiler for the future but when I get to gen 6, there’s no current way to get those mythicals from the generation 6 games legally. So I’m just gonna include the mythicals I already had from the original events. But I ended up getting 2 hoopa, one from my Y copy and another from my Alpha Sapphire copy. And those are both getting counted by me obtaining them both from their original generations!

I love the fact that he just randomly has a Spanish copy of Emerald sitting around. I guess it's one of the easier other languages to play Pokémon in since the names are the same, but it is so wack that they are counted as Spanish characters even though they are the same name. I'd understand that if there were any Ñ Pokémon, but that's so weird
