Good to be back - next week I'll be posting a "Two-Light" studio demo!

Don't know why... but I'm always waiting for you to say, "Roll that beautiful bean footage" instead of your regular intro line. I guess I've been watching too many Bush's Baked Beans commercials. lol

Thanks for the videos James, this is very inspirational... if you are taking request, can you do a video on a run and gun setup? camera, lens and lighting setup for solo shooting.

Sounds like a fun idea! What type of photo shoot?
@alibharmal85403 жыл бұрын
@@QuantzPhoto I know I am being greedy here and asking for too much but how about a day in the life of an athlete type of shoot. so we get lifestyle, portraits, training, action shots. It would be really interesting to see how you would approach a full day shoot without assistance, what gear would you carry and how it would affect your creative decisions.

@@alibharmal8540 great ask and I hope I can pull that off in the future!

I started life as a Graphic / Web Designer. I was an Graphic Design major, and I pushed myself through the first year of "Art School". I loved design, but it was 5% design and 95% Contemporary Art. I swapped to Communications and kept Graphic Design as my minor. I retouched and manipulated photos for websites (freelance & traditional jobs) professionally for ~ 5 years. My health crashed in 2016, and I became disabled. I had some free time, so I thought, maybe, I'll learn about actually *taking* the photos. I'm an introvert as well, but I've had jobs that made me learn how to "switch-it-on" and pretend to be an extrovert lol (Thanks Front-Line of DQ & Front Desk of Best Western!). I started with Real Estate Photography, then moved to Animals, and then People. At that point, I did every event I attended (TONS for free), Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, Graduations, Awards, etc until I ultimately got to Weddings. *Every genre of photography will teach you something!* About a year ago, I started into "sports" with my Niece's 9-year-old basketball team.

Great video, a lot of great info. I feel like I am so close yet so far off of making stable income from photo. I started photography almost 3 years ago and started to focus on product work at the beginning of the pandemic. I feel my work isn't up to the point where I want to start really marketing and "cold contacting" But that could just be nerves.

Hey Sam, practice, practice, practice and follow the steps. When you get that portfolio together take the feedback to heart and figure out where to improve - lord knows I had to!

You have the most cringe intros....and i love them lol ....im trying to get my foto in the industry but i live in the brother part of Sweden and its in the South where everything happens . But now because Corona the book agency in Stockholm wont fly a author that is About to release a book world wide to their photographers in Stockholm .according to them they looked around the studios and bitter photographers here but didnt like them and then they stumbled to my Instagram and the saw something in me .your video here gave me the kick in the butt i needed to tale the shots they needed but with my touch on then . Because thats the photos they saw And liked. If i do this really good maybe they start to hire me for all the autors in the northeen part of Sweden after Corona to . Thank you !!!!!
