I had my knee replaced in December. The biggest thing I can say about Knee bending is you have to do it lol. You have to do it every day multiple times a day. And you have to actually put a lot of pressure on that knee. You can't just pussyfoot around and just bend it a tiny bit. One of the things I would do is face away from some stairs and put my leg up on, say, the third stair and drop down. This would bend my leg and I was able to put a lot of pressure on it if I wanted to. I was using my walker when I did this. I would also ride a stationary bike to the point where it was a little uncomfortable on my knee. But it was bending my knee every time I made a rotation. Now I have 130° or so.

Dr Sam Can you please do a Video on Passive And Resting bend and when can you expect your Resting bend to actually catch up to your Passive bend.

Does a patient who has robotic surgery do better with physical therapy and getting their knee back to bending?
@dr.samanthasmith8 ай бұрын
According to research the long term outcomes are the same. I don’t think there’s anything that says robotic does better with bend

I'm on my 18 week post op after TKR. I'm still struggling walking. It seems like the culprit is my knee cap is too tight, making it hard to walk. I'm still doing PT but progressing really slow. What do you think is the solution? thanks

Two years and 3 month after right TKR… barely 90 ROM. Yes, the brick still there. Still trying to get a hope. Should I try this? I will be broken hearted if it doesn’t work at all…. Will try it.

I am only 16 days PO. Are you suggesting not starting the course until 6 weeks PO?
@dr.samanthasmith8 ай бұрын
Correct. If you are still stuck at 6 weeks, you’ll want to start this course. At 16 days, you still have time to improve! You may not need the course.
