Yes and I cannot believe his IQ is 70, seems more like 85-90 if not 100. The whole thing screwing me up is believing Forrest Gump really had an IQ of 75. Forrest Gump was probably 60. I agree with there being other factors or other forms of intelligence, as easy as having the ability to just say no.

. @ItzTwelve0Clock That is because, through factor analysis, that intelligence, through many experiments and in practice, is one dimensional. No one has ever been able to show that intelligence has more dimensional measures than one. Also, IQ is the best psychometric statistic that exists to predict financial success, there is no other test that correlates higher to financial success than IQ. Of course if you are intelligent, but lazy and do nothing, you will obviously fail. I am not saying you cannot be successful if you are not smart. You were happy that they kept you after 90 days. You are studying to help improve your IQ. You articulated all of this in a concise way that was understandable. You may not see it, but you are more highly intelligent than most people coming out of college. Not only that, you are also wise. You took a job that most people look down on. Seen a lot of spoiled brats who got not only extremely encouraged and empowered, but really buttered up (mostly little boys and their mothers who are absolutely sure that their precious baby must be the genius of the century). I have seen others undermined, neglected or just ignored etc. These things matter, and they have a huge impact. But often enough they also kind of balance out over the years and the neglected kids can learn to be smart on their own, the spoiled brats get lazy and arrogant and do not develop enough self-awareness and ultimately undermine their own development and wake up one day wondering why they are so average... happens a lot.

My brother has a learning disability which makes it tough for him to live independently. For the past year he has been working at a bakery in the kitchen, they aren’t the nicest people to work with but my brother says that “even tho it sucks he knows that the experience will only make him stronger”. He went from the guy who couldn’t cope with taking the bus alone, to someone that pays for his own food and transportation. He is now saving up for a house. I’m constantly inspired when watching him.

This is very good, very helpful. I have a family member with lower IQ, about 80, and it is stressful sometimes. We worry about what he can do and the jobs he will be able to excel at. Luckily our family loves him and will always support him but it’s very tough for the “BIF” group of individuals. People with IQs between 70-85 have a unique challenge. They appear perfectly normal on the outside but can rly struggle with basic tasks and jobs etc. this message is hopeful and I really wish you the best.

Maybe consider janitorial or window cleaning! They pay a living wage in my country and it's the easiest work I've ever done. Far easier than fast food. I have a medical condition that affects my memory significantly and it's hard to learn new things. A lot of janitorial positions require experience, but you can get around that by finding a gym to apply to. Gym janitorial gigs are very simple, require zero experience and they have trouble keeping the positions full. You won't make as much as a janitor at a gym as you would being a janitor in a warehouse, but it's doable. And once you work there you can move on to office cleaning or something. One of my coworkers at the gym had down syndrome and couldn't speak very well and had trouble learning new things. HE WAS VERY VALUED. He was there everyday, that's what mattered. Rooting for your family member!

A testament to how big of a lie IQ tests are. It is just a test. Being good in solving a test doesn't mean you are smarter. You are simply good with solving an abstract test. My results were above average since 15 years old. And I stand behind my message. On top of this having high IQ doesn't prevent anyone from being dumb or unwise. And lastly, even if you aren't dumb intellectually, you could still be dumb morally or emotionally (amoral, lacking abilities to deal with complex emotions properly).

This really illustrates why we should all go through life NOT ridiculing people, period. We never know the situation, the conditions, the battles they had to fight and win just to be where they are. How sad it is to have someone in a position they truly struggled for, and then someone comes along and pushes them down and adds to that struggle. I don't want to be that someone, ever. We may not be at this guy's level, but I guarantee that ALL of us have faced similar obstacles in some way, at some time, to some degree, that really maybe made our eyes well up a little at the unfairness of life. We should always deal with people with this in the forefront of our approach. Build up...don't tear down. Don't be the cause of someone's despair. My hat is off my bald head to you, friend! There's a direct correlation between IQ and social cognitive abilities. What might strike you right away is lack of shame in his expression. If a person finds it difficult to blush they're likely lower IQ. Not to be mistaken with social maturity, e.g being intelligent enough not to instinctively resort to fight or flight when your ego is challenged or you're finding yourself in an uncomfortable situation. If your citizens are of average low IQ social shame tactics isn't going to prevent them from committing crimes. Only threat of physical harm is going to deter them, which is why the criminal justice system that focuses on rehabilitation in some western countries don't work on immigrants.

Tbh bro sometimes having a high IQ is just as bad as low IQ. I have struggled to hold down steady employment my whole life, my uncle has as well he has worked upwards of 80-90 jobs. Both of us on tested as geniuses, but both of us also are slightly on the autism spectrum and have ADHD. For us it's an issue that most jobs don't occupy us enough. Thankfully my current job allows me to read when we don't have orders coming. Because for me that's the only way I can maintain focus, by reading something during the down time and writing when ideas story ideas strike. For me as well it is the having the opportunity to read that makes me get my job done faster. In a given shift I'll usually get about 40 chapters of manga read. By being able to occupy my brain with something other than mindless repetitive action that I'm able to stay focused for the whole shift. Places that don't allow reprieves like that I always grow to resent them because I feel like I'm a replaceable cog, that the employers wants a machine not a person. But being allowed to converse with coworkers about things other than work, by being able to write, draw, or read, I feel like I can express myself and that I am being accepted by my employer, thus my productivity goes up. There's actually quite a few studies that show the more you try to squeeze 8 hours of productivity out of a worker the less you actually get, whereas when you allow for a more natural workplace balance you tend to actually get full productivity. I can confirm that with me at least balance is a must, because the more my fundamental human spirit is ground down and I'm not allowed to express myself, the more resentful and lazy I get.

If employees stuck around for about a year and showed ability they'd often be sent for shift manager training and start to work their way up quickly.

I used to work for McDonald's & it's a little funny how ppl want to judge u based on where you work. Ppl could care less about your life story, for the most part, it seems, & would rather judge you in just a moments worth. Bc y not, it's easier. Meanwhile, I'd keep my mouth shut about a lot of things & just look at some ppl like yikes. U might want to reconsider what you're judging. Bc you're def lacking any kind of self awareness. & If I'm ur bigger battle in life, then wever war you're going through, that already sounds like it's gonna take forever to get through. But lucky u, bc at least I'm not a part of it. I can not tell u how many times I've tried helping ppl by going cheaper routes. But ppl r so determined to belittle (a/) complete strangers, I'd switch up. Bc they got on my nerves, so, fake a smile, find a way to over charge them, & lie to them about something. U got kicks? Aww that's peecious. Bc I'm human... me too! But if they're right, in there minds ___, than that's what counts. I work somewhere else & it's kind of the same mentality. I really just got into it w/ a preacher too. Apparently a well known, in the community. Lol, have no clue who he is. If ppl knew how much power on a different level I have now,...and was always capable of, jk, that's prob what sadistic cynical types would prob want to hear. But as much as a revolving door it here is too, the politics here is more fd. Like u fr gotta check urself w/ this 1 now tho Bc yay for constancy,.... isn't that right? Someone smiling in ur damn face isn't wth matters. & I do think body language is pseudo science tho. Bc if that's all he/ they hafta go by, or actively choose to go by, u're really r fd. Meanwhile... Also, random but I remember hearing about a horror local story where that guy worked at 1. & I never forgot that. But high IQ or not, imagine hearing things like choose ur battles better... Randoms: yep today's my day to kill & it's so worth it! Or in less dramatic language, be a complete douche! No matter ur education, status, race, age, gender, blah. Some ppl should've fr took 1 step outside & got on that it's gonna be a nope from me universal thread. Like who the f even told u u were civilized

You can mask a lot of human behaviors that verbally and nonverbally would fit better into the category of being "in control of every situation, objectively and subjectively" wich would be the average persons view on resilience, stability and smart thinking..... But as we know. A person with high IQ is no better at making "clever" descisions as in human understanding, than a person with a high EQ. So the question would be, Is being smart and clever, humans thinking of technology or solutions that could be useful for evolving mandkind in the future. Or is being smart and clever, taking care of your needs, and using empathy/sympathy to protect and evovle mandkind. ..Not that a person with high IQ cant use empathy for the good of multiple people, but i hope that you reading this is "clever" enough to get what im saying ;)

I have met hordes of unintelligent people in my life and he has none of the characteristics. I have also worked with the other end of the scale, so I have a frame of reference. What this guy shows is the attitude of a person who did not receive encouragement when growing up, in formal education and at home. as someone who has just discovered having autism, and wondered why mundane tasks were always so much more mentally demanding to me, this video is relatable and makes me happy. IQ tests are standardized, by people, based on performance alone with a strict meter that doesn’t measure levels of awareness or specific skills. every person is different, and some have a rather specific capacity of knowledge or intelligence in fewer areas. regardless of a test, you seem like a bright fella with a great head on your shoulders. love the optimism, that goes a long way.

Exactly. IQ tests measure a very specific type of intelligence, but there are many types of intelligence. I have a friend with an IQ of 160 and she has blind spots a mile wide. Part of it is her autism, but standardized intelligence tests don't transfer to mental processes across the spectrum, just a narrow swath of it. The narrow swath that's being tested. I have a high verbal IQ (something I made up) and I can talk circles around her. Math? I give up.
