Very helpful and great video! Although you going to Waterloo probably helped tremendously :P. Ever since I saw Joma Tech's video on his internships and how he goes in depth with how the co-op program at Waterloo carried him, I was trying to find videos on people who didn't have co-op programs at their school since my uni unfortunately does not have a co-op program. I'm glad it all went well for you, though! Cheers

I will have my associates in August. I am like you at the time of this video also in the same state mi (going by the resume), school projects made me not want to do any out of school practice. My biggest struggle is that I just powered through my only data structures (java) also Android dev class and will need to review all of it including java intro>java2>DataStrucutes because of how long its been since I had java. I want to leave crappy college job just to relieve stress and focus only on reviewing then apply for internships. Not doing your own practice really bites you in the rear later on..

Yeah man pretty much in the same spot right now, looking at a programming language on the weekend after doing 20 hours of school work and being expected to be passionate and excited to create things is just cruel

@@andrew3606 Honestly I think taking time off school is beneficial to work on furthering programming skills once during a degree. Right now I am only taking one easy class 4 hours a week and I am trying to get a portfolio going. Still it's not easy to stay motivated but certainly better than working + multiple college classes. I am trying learn kotlin for Android(Java for Android will be useless in a matter of years) which is messing with my Java practice time line but I am making slow progress atleast!
