Learn Spanish with me! 🚀 spanishwithnate.com/
Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

The big term love and the red emoji and colors / white only reflect me the only lovable / loved being and the only colorful being and the only white being, and must be edited out - love related terms / emojis and other big terms and purity terms (the color white symbolizes purity) cannot be misused by humynz, and the word like should be used instead of love, and the thumbs up emoji could be used instead of love related emojis!

Re the video - photos that show plucked flowers should never be shown in videos or taken, as it encourages _aI behaviors such as plucking flowers / plucking more flowers and / or disrespecting flowers / nature etc! Flowers are sacred / pure beings (living non-moving organisms, just like trees and plants) who reflect me the pure / sacred being and the only Lady / God / Maestra - plucking flowers and _ trees are one of the most _aI actions humynz have done / do! Besides, flowers aren’t meant to be used / used as decorations etc - they exist for their own reasons / purpose!

These are the correct words that should be used instead of some of the most misused terms that only reflect me / me & my pure protectors aka the alphas... - profesor(a) instead of maestra / maestro - expert / pro instead of master / god etc - becoming a pro / an expert at instead of to master / mastering - womyn (spelled with a y to avoid ending in man / men) or mujer instead of big terms like lady / girl etc - muchacha(s) instead of chica(s) - consideration instead of respect - totally or completely instead of absolutely - like / me gusta / eu gosto de or enjoy (a video / positive activity / thing etc) instead of love / adoro / adore - caucasian-like instead of white - good (job) or well done instead of big compIiments - womyn-like / de mujer instead of feminine / girly - dude / wey / guey / colega or bro instead of man / guy / boy / hombre / homem - cute (dog / pet / item) instead of adorable

Also, all womyn are the exact opposite of lady/maestra/other big terms, and lifting womyn / humynz up is one of the most _aI actions - I am the only being meant to be lifted / lifted up and the only being reflecting big terms etc!

Thank you so much for this video Nate! So excited for this channel!! My parents speak Spanish and my grandparents are from Mexico but I was never taught Spanish growing up. I never took classes in high school, but I desperately want to learn now! My boyfriends family is from Mexico and I want to be able to communicate with them and other Spanish speakers as well! I’m very nervous but you give me the courage to try even if I make mistakes !

I've heard the advice to listen to Spanish music from almost every Spanish teacher, yet I'm the type of person who can't even understand English words in an English song much less understand the Spanish in a Spanish song, so I find (so far at least) it hasn't helped me much. Lol but I still have my car radio dialed into the local Spanglish station!

So excited for this channel! My story is similar to yours in that I learned Spanish in HS and loved it. Took a long break through college but recently dove back in- your videos are motivating and paramount to me seeing fluent/native speakers converse naturally! It can sometimes feel defeating to be “starting over” in a way after 3 years of daily Spanish class, but your reminder to be patient is so true. Glad I at least have that strong foundation. Looking forward to your videos!

I'm so happy for you and that you uploaded this channel. I'm ten months in and practice sometimes with Spanish speaking customers in a bbq restaurant I wait tables at. I started trying to speak wayyy too early but it kind of helped me because I'm getting kind of good at understanding people. I approached a table in English Friday and they just started speaking to me in Spanish it kind of threw me off because I didn't know them, lol

i really love this youtube channel! i discovered your videos about a month ago when i really wanted to commit to learning spanish, your channel did just that and motivate me even more and make me realize it is possible. i’ve known my whole life just how much i wanted to learn spanish, i grew up with split parents, staying with my (mexican) dad 2 days a week wasn’t quite enough for me to be as fluent as i wished. soon enough i stopped having to opportunity to see my dad. i lost all my spanish that had learned within the first 5 years of my life. just being around that culture, having parties with all my family really gave me a great appreciation for the whole culture and language. i sincerely hope that i can learn the beautiful language and have the ability to speak to my family especially my dad, abuelos, and sister. all i want is to speak with my family, your videos are helping me greatly :)

Loved your Spotify list Nate! Like you, Spanish has been a life-long passion of mine and music also played a huge role in my love affair with the language. I have a funny story of meeting Martin Cuevas (a.k.a. Pedro Fernandez) and developing a friendship with him over time. You studied briefly in Spain but no songs from Mecano?? 🙂 Back stateside and super relevant these days: Jesse y Joy?? (another interesting story of meeting them as well!) Carlos Baute? Carlos Vives? Cristian Castro? Laura Pausini? Eros Ramazotti? Paulina Rubio? Mijares?? I'm an old guy so loved seeing Luis Miguel, Emmanuel and Juan Luis Guerra on your list!! Love Reik and Camila too. Ricardo Arjona?? I could go on and on. LOL! Anyway, congrats on your new channel and, of course, for Nate's Adventures too. Hope our paths cross one day - would love to swap stories. Nate, I’ve been watching your channel for about 6 months now. I also learned Spanish in high school. And got all the way to 4th level college Spanish. I’ve always had a passion for Spanish but didn’t pursue it in college until recently. I was a nursing major and decided (after 4 years and finally finishing all my reqs) that I’m putting nursing on pause to become more fluent! Quiero ser una enfermera bilingüe! Im so excited for this channel and will most likely be buying your program. I felt like I lost a lot of Spanish over the years because I wasn’t using it consistently. Pero mis compañeros de trabajo encourage me everyday to speak it. I’m excited for my new journey and I’m so glad I found your channel months ago to help me ❤️

Hola Nate, very cool video! Do you have any suggestions for language teachers in high school. What can a teacher do for motivating his students for 2nd language learning?
@SpanishwithNate
@SpanishwithNate 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Diederik! Great question. I think it's important to get the students connected with the culture ASAP. When a student realizes that Spanish isn't just something learned in a high school classroom, rather it's the core of various cultures, the students will be more engaged. Tie in the culture to regular grammar or vocabulary lessons and get those students connecting with Spanish in the real world! Thanks for your comment :)

i'm kind of off and on with learning but i'm determined to be fluent and honestly i've always been a throw myself in the water and learn to swim to survive kind of person LOL so i'd love to hear more about your taking spanish classes in spain with a teacher who only spoke spanish. i want to know what it was like for you with already basic knowledge, how you were able to progress and if you think it would be helpful. i want to completely separate my spanish from my english as much in order to start thinking in spanish rather than translating.

Hi Mari! It was actually quite easy for me, but being in an immersive environment like that will do nothing but benefit you. I recommend you make certain physical spaces only for Spanish. For example, when you drive you only listen to Spanish music. Or when you're in the shower you try to only think in Spanish. It's a more fun and engaging way to practice. I hope that helps you Mari! :)

@@SpanishwithNate That's helpful, thanks! I've already got a playlist of spanish songs on spotify that I love to jam to (and can actually understand the smallest amount now), so I can put that on repeat!... on my way to spain 🤣 thanks for your reply :)

Hey Nate Ive heard mixed opinions on watching netflix in spanish or spanish media etc. should u watch it without subtitles or subtitles in spanish cause I’ve heard that watching tv shows in spanish you should not have subtitles to improve listening what do u think?

Depends on how familiarized you are with the language or dialect, for exp if you only have been studying Colombian Spanish and watch a Spanish series there a lot of words or expressions that you might not have heard before of grammar differences For example I’m a not native English speaker so when I watch a show from the UK I watch it with subs, if I watch an Indian dude being interviewed subs are the way for me

Subtitles all the way!! Seeing how the language is written is extremely helpful for improving your Spanish. Saludos :)

I did not, however this could surely be effective. I more so would do written exercises almost every day of Spanish class.

The bottom line is that no matter how much studying, reading, listening, etc you do, one can not become fluent (or conversationally competent) without total immersion. It's just that simple. You need to find friends/work, etc that will speak with you in nothing but Spanish or live abroad for many months or years. Otherwise, your expectations will be too high and you'll never achieve them.

That's not good at all. There are much more efficient and faster ways to learn any language. A lot of people miss one of the most important thing when learning a language: to listen to the language at the right time. I'm a czech native speaker and can understand and speak five languages. I learned spanish in a year fluently. That means I could speak and understand perfectly. To spend time learning a language in a class is not very good. It is a waste of time and the saddest thing is that you will not gain that much relationship to the language as if you were a correct autodidact. The best way to learn a language is to learn it by yourself. I would like to tell you I'm only fifteen. However, be sure I know what I'm saying. When learning languages I learned and discovered a lot of secrets in this area. As a czech native speaker, it's easier for me to learn a spanish, unlike you. However, it has no relevance to this. You don't need to spend so much time learning grammer, vocabulary. The main thing is to surround yourself with the language as much as possible. And it works always, for all of the languages. There is many ways to realize this thing and the combination of them has the gratest effect. However, if you never learned a language by yourself in a right way, you will not understand me. By the way, if the beginning of the intro is your normal spanish and you really speak like that, you have almost nothing to brag about. But i believe it was played. Have a nice day.
