I think an important factor to remember is, while the story of the build is very important, it has to be built off of a competently built structure. A story will only take you so far when the build has no clear vision. Stories quickly become bullshit without any legs. Sure you can SAY the build means xyz, but if there’s no place to point to, it’s BS. The Barbie house is a great example of this, while RT did make stuff up, it all had a place within the build. Best lies always have a bit of truth. More truth, better the lie

With what Northerlion and Squeex were going for with their final house, I'm surprised they didn't turn it into a full blown murder mystery, with Jerma as the detective having to comb through the house for evidence and 'interview' various witnesses (e.g. Marge Simpson and Hatsune Miku, as played by Northernlion and Squeex) for their testimony.
