A small tip on salad dressing: instead of getting it on the side and pouring it on, dip your fork in the dressing before picking up your salad. That way you get flavor in every bite without over indulging. I told you before Ben, but you are looking great!

So happy for both of you for prioritizing your health and most importantly for feeling better! I think most people understand this isn't official advice but just in case I think it's important for people to know restrictive diets have a rebound effect and most people gain back the weight because constant restriction is too difficult to maintain. Also skipping breakfast is correlated with weight gain for most people, not weight loss. Also no one should be comparing themself to the BMI and calling themself overweight or obese. I know doctors do this but this is because insurance companies pressure them to. The BMI was based off a mostly male population from Belgium over 150 years ago. It cannot accurately be used for modern UK and US populations. Lastly, the healthy diet and exercise is what makes people feel better, not so much the weight loss. If any of this seems odd or even better tickles your interest, please look up the HAES (Health at Every Size) movement. I worry that we conflate extra weight with being unhealthy and that is just not the case. That is fatphobia, eugenics, and perfectionism in disguise. To sum it up simply: a little fat never hurt anyone but an unhealthy body does. I see so many "overweight" people beat themselves up when they are doing all the right things in terms of diet and exercise. I want those people to know they are healthy whether they reach an "ideal" weight set by the BMI, or not.

So very proud of you for accomplishing the weight loss you have. I myself have lost 52 pounds and still counting (probably for the fourth time in two decades). I feel like this time is different from all my past weight losses. I always did what ever was popular in the weight loss industry like keto, IF, calorie restriction and calorie counting, but I always plateaued, stayed stagnant then just regained all my weight back and sometimes more to boot! This time I’m following the Livy Method and learning how to eat without deprivation, weighing food or calorie counting. I’ve learned about the body’s set point ( which is just the weight that your body is used to functioning at) and how to move that set point in order to drop fat. Also, learning that a plateau can be a positive while dropping weight and is just your bodies way of taking a hot minute to adjust to the new weight you are at and give your skin a chance to reform around your new body. Anyways, not that you asked, I’m just excited for you and myself and hope some of my info could resonate with you.

First saw her live on the Showgirl tour 20 years ago, just before her cancer diagnosis. She’s now the artist I’ve seen perform live most. Happy cruising!

Our truck was eating protein first before eating anything sweet or carbish as it cuts the sugar spike up to 75% per a biochemist. My nutritionist told that, every time I snack, add a little protein. The snacks are usually fruit, but I add some cottage cheese or cheese or something. That cuts my hunger. Also, protein at breakfast and at dinner. A lot of the time, that prevents me from even wanting a snack later.

I loved seeing your journey! I’ve lost 122 pounds & I did it exactly the same way you’ve done it. Big on protein, I became a person who exercises, & I count calories. I had to eat healthy, like it or not, because the types of calories matter. I have to eat food that fills me up or I’d fail. Just like you’ve done. Good job!

As someone who has lost 50 pounds and has tried to keep it off for the last 5 years, I have a saying when I am trying to lose a few pounds and that is, it will be there when I am done doing what I have to do. I start a new job, restrict my booze to be booze free by the end of the month, read three books a month, workout four times a week, and eat better. I just made my lunches and dinners until Wednesday! I also love starting my morning with a cup of tea, with berries, watermelon, a banana, and some seeds. I will be booking a cruise on MSC Yacht Club by April. Nice work! Stairs are SO key. I have not been an elevator on a ship in years! I still struggle with water because of bathroom stops, especially on an excursion. Keep up the good work!
