Thanks for another interesting video. I’m surprised that reducing nuts lowered LDL, but it’s good to hear you’re getting that LDL under control. 🎉 Maybe it’s that you are lowering your overall calories, carbs and fats, so your body is able to put the carbs and fats into the cell for energy, and not leave it floating in the blood because the cells are full? This will lower LDL and triglycerides. You mentioned homocysteine, one way to to help lower homocysteine is betaine, this is found in beets! Not only does betaine lower homocysteine, but it also gives an nice energy and strength boost. I have a table spoon of beetroot powder in the morning most days and I get an energy boost. Beets are also good for nitric oxide production, this helps the arteries function. All the best everyone :)

Thank you for posting I have been a strict raw vegan for ten years cholesterol and triglycerides always high,and my homosystein,it was 15.40 I bought it down by taking B vitamins,my B12 was ok,I. Took Patrick Holford HOMOSYSTEIN lowering B vitamins, triglycerides 238 cholesterol the same.I have tried no fat for four months still high.I eat fruit for lunch salad for dinner.I am now trying a tbs of udos oil and omega three supliments,I hate after ten years using supplements yet it bought my Homosystein in range,still continuing the supliments as I want it down to 7,so I guess I am trying fat until my blood test,I also have less than a handful off nuts or seeds soaked some days.Aparantly we need good fat in our diet,I obviously wasn't getting enough B vitamins,though B12 was in range.

Happy to see that your test result was good! I have been raw vegan for 10 years, and my lipid has gone up - cholesterol has been near 190, triglycerides near 180, HDL 60, and LDL near 90 for all these time. I don't consume processed oil. No nuts. High fruits. No avocados nor seeds for 3 years. I watched Dr. Klapper's tyranny of number, and "felt good," but still don't understand why. Anyway, you mentioned not to mix avocado and chia seeds in the same meal. Why not?

It seems to me that it was not so much the specific foods that you took as much as the 1 meal a day that had the most effect on your body. The internal wisdom has the means of creating the means to healthify your body when you fast or eat once per day providing the enzymes are there and not destroyed by artificial means.

The problem is combining high fructose fruits with fat !!! Not fat itself!!! I forgot to say! My triglicerides are 62 (becouse I eat low fructose fruits and those, every other day)!
@zpcarАй бұрын
paul, it would be interesting if you could discuss this with dr. fuhrman (among others), he insists that fats from nuts and seeds actually lover cholesterol (contrary to your claim that avoiding them lowered your levels). i am one of those people on a long term raw vegan, low fat/no fat diet, intermittent fasting, and still have high cholesterol (total 170, ldl 120, and it's not hereditary). i have heard this same question asked many times, and the prominent vegan doctors (all of them) always just say "you need to change your diet and the cholesterol will go down". but what about us who have changed our diet a long time ago and still have high cholesterol. i never heard anybody go really deep into this problem, maybe you could help us and try to get to the bottom of this, since you have access to these doctors. maybe a special episode with prominent doctors just dedicated to this and examining thoroughly all the facts and details? i.e. is high ldl cholesterol less problematic if the hdl is high and triglycerides are low (like in my case, and many others so called "high responders")? your help would be greatly appreciated since i am sure you understand how worrying it all is, as you are/were one of us.

@@zpcar hi! Thank you for your comment and your question to Paul here! I have gone as much raw as possible and vegan in the last year and a half. My LDL is also around 120, triglycerides are in the 70s and my HDL is 53. Total cholesterol 187? So I’m similar to you and also trying to figure out if there’s really any concern here? My fats now come primarily from nuts, seeds, avocados. I hate giving up any of them as I feel I’ve already cut back so much. I made these changes for health reasons. And now I’ve learned all of this stuff including all you’re also sharing that Dr. Fuhrman says on these things. Thank you and I’ll hope to see answers too!!👍🏻👍🏻

There is a study of more than 12 million Koreans that shows that the total cholesterol that gives the lowest mortality rate of all causes is around 220. So, maybe your cholesterol was just fine. By the way, do you know about the Morgan Levine Biological Age Calculator? It calculates how your biological age compares with the chronological one. It uses numbers from regular blood tests, nothing fancy. My biological age is 13 years younger than by chronological age, according to that calculator. You will find it easily online.

I’m scared out of my mind.😢 In all honesty, grass, fed beef and butter and raw milk has been in my diet for years. Maybe it might be time to do the vegan thing.🤷♀️ but beef and cheese and olive oil and bread. They are all in the bible .How could they be bad?????. yes, sprouting is king. Please keep us updated .

My cholesterol is lower than yours !!! I have cholesterol at 123 !!! I eat more than 250g of fat coming from nuts and seeds or avocados or fermented olives or (raw) fermented for 7 days, blended coconut. But I do not eat fruits that have more than 5% fructose in them (That means no mango, no pineapple, no banana, no dates, no figs, no grapes, no raisins, no pears, no cherries, no plums, no peach or nectarine). --I eat 300-400g of vegtables and greens daily (Of witch 130g is sauerkraut). --I eat fruit only in season, from july to october and only every other day. Fruits like: Currants, pomegranate, gooseberries, apricots, black apricots, sour cherries, blackberries, raspberries, black mulberries, wild blueberries, aronia, pumpkin, golden melon. --I eat 100 to 120g of (raw) fermented 2-3 days, millet or sorghum daily. --I drink 2 tbsp of vinegar made from sweet fruits diluted in whater, daily. --I use 2 Tbsp of mixed herbs like oregano, rosemary, thyme... daily. --I use 1 Tbsp of turmeric and 1 Tbsp of sumac daily. --I eat 1 kg of brown mushrooms raw, daily.

maybe you need to stop raw vegan, and start adding good sources of protein and niacin like chicken breast or some other lean meat and then get tested after 3 months. Since not all vegan foods are safe for cholesterol levels, it defeats the purpose of having vegan diet.

Thank you for sharing this, Paul!! And congrats on your great results, what you wanted to see!!🙌🥳 Have to be honest and say this news bums me out though cuz I eat nuts, seeds with almost every meal + often a half an avocado in my salad. Based on your findings, I’m thinking I cannot do this and should only have nuts/seeds on days when no avocado?😦🫤 EDIT: just heard you say get a blood test so that’s what I’ll do. I do try to not eat other oils. Once in awhile aTBSP of olive oil on salad
@melaniecordes4613Ай бұрын
I am a slow metabolizer and don't do that well with much fat. I do eat nuts and seeds but not everyday and occasionally an avocado but never use oil. Have you ever heard of the Zoe test? You may be interested in doing that. As for nuts and salad dressings, instead of using soaked nuts, try using the defatted powders like almond, cashew and PB 2 Pure. They contain a fraction amount of fat compared to the actual nut.
