My one critique is that I feel like it's pretty dangerous to say "if you need money now go and coach someone" because that seems to breed a lot of opportunities for people to scam others. If you're a struggling streamer, why would I take coaching from you when you haven't built it yourself? I liked the video, but that one part kind of felt off to me.

I agree, it's all of those KZbin ads you see offering sales or their books. It's a lot of scam marketing.

I think she meant coach around a topic you have authority over. For example, if you're trying to become a League streamer and you're like a challenger player or whatever, you could offer coaching and it would be valuable.

Yeaaaaaah but thats exactly what she and other popular "how to stream" creators are doing. They make their money off the traffic of "helping" others. I'm not saying they dont offer sound advice just that they leave out the part that their niche market involves these exact "tutorial" videos.

Topic suggestion: Tips for non-american streamers and non-native English speakers. Most of these big sponsorship opportunities are available only for American streamers. While the opportunity is better in America and English speakers, the ceiling is WAY higher for non English speakers. Think Ibai, he gets insane viewership numbers and works with lots of sponsors. His average viewership is 83k and his max was 540k this year. While it is next to impossible. It can be a reality for some (maybe not ibai numbers, but still respectable #s)

Good video. I've recently experienced a growth in my own KZbin channel (100 monthly views to 71,000) and it was sudden, one month to another. I have basic videos (mostly nvidia highlights) by I've started using some key words in the tags section and it helped a lot. Also the "Shorts" helped gaining viewership. After that I've done a couple live streams with avg. 50 viewers so I think I'll start developing my branding and invest in a better setup to stream with a little better quality.

1 on 1 coaching is fine, but deff not something long term you want to do. Use the time, to collect all the questions/answers - and turn it into a course you can monetize to everyone with the background (these are questions from over 100 clients) that they asked so you don't have to, and you can get this to watch again and again for only XXX.XX. So coaching leads to more.

I feel as though you were talking to me a bit in this vid. ;) So what did we learn in this vid? A: To really start earning money we need some kind of merchandise that provides a service to others or provides something that other people find useful. Clothing merch won't do this , so that's out. You suggest coaching or a teaching type ebook, but to be honest, that isn't really within my skill set and doesn't really tie in to my streams. So what could I personally provide that does? I've been watching your content for awhile now. This is a backup account, so it doesn't reveal who I am. All of your content has been informative and helpful, but this video, which I'm just now seeing for the first time; This video really influences people to do things for the wrong reasons. These reasons are why so many fail and start trying to become streamers for all of the wrong reasons. Everyone is doing things for money and blaming people of the likes of you because they think they're going to make a ton of money. All I ever hear from other streamers is talk of money. They wonder why they're not growing, but it's because they're making it their focus. So many streamers talk about making money off the viewers and these videos don't help with fixing the community. It has been making things more toxic. Nothing towards you, but these videos really hurt the community by filling everyone's minds with dollar signs. Also, congrats on all of the success! I've been watching since you were smaller, great to see the growth! Keep up the great work!

I like how you are giving an honest breakdown of your success and highlighting that although this isn't common, or typical, the effort , and process anyone can do in their respective niche! Ironically, I started, or restarted my channel rather, because I already launched a business, made over $7k in sales, and am wanting to use this platform to highlight my capabilities, among other things! Yet even with that as a mindset, delivering the idea that there is a MAJOR difference between active and passive income is something these kinds of videos never cover. Well done all around. I have a question for you, as a follow up to my comment: do you cover digital marketing, or advertising your business in general? If you do, please link me the videos that either you made or your recommend. I am on my "Research" phase of all of this and am getting ready to cover the "Know your audience" phase haha.

There are numerous ways to monetize your stream: focusing on retaining your audience, engaging them as much as you can, doing paid sponsorships/partnerships, affiliate links, etc. Can't name them all actually. There are tons of tools to help you with that too! Let's take Gimbl.gg for example the tool lets your audience challenge you in exchange for money, instead of donating "plain" money. It makes your stream funnier, engages your audience on a whole new level, and helps a lot with monetization. Again, there are tons of tools like this one, but I like Gimbl most since they're updating regularly their content and always add new features!
