Do you always use a software (eg quickbooks) for all your bookkeeping even if the business is really small? Do you sometimes just use a spreadsheet? I only use QBO. I don't use any other software or Excel. If the client is too small for QBO, they probably are too small to pay my minimum of $250/month For deliverables, it's always P&L and Balance Sheet, sometimes General Ledger if the accountant asks for it I don't handover the books because the client always has their own access to QBO

How can I record an invoice to past factored transactions in quickbooks online? I just subscribed to QB and linked my accounts. My factoring company sends all invoices to brokers and charge me a fee of 1.5%, no reserve. I need to record the full amount of the agreement. I only see the factored amount. For example...$800 was charged, but I only got $788 after factoring. I need to tie that 800 to the 788. Can you help?

I work every day and I've gone on vacation once in the past 3 years, and I brought my laptop and I worked for 3 hours every day :) but I'm crazy, and I love working my business, and I make a lot of money, so you don't need to work as much as I do if you don't want to! You could easily take off for 4 or 5 days. Just tell your clients that you'll be away, and be prepared to have a lot of emails to catch up on when you return!

Never work hourly, never go to people's office, charge more. I took a client for $25 per hour when I first started. I never work hourly, everything is a fixed cost. Monthly recurring clients start at $200 and one-off things start at $500. I won't clean up anything for less than $500, no matter how small. It's not worth the headache.

The only option is to double your efforts for marketing and sales. You should be creating social media content every day. You should be calling and emailing and messaging prospective clients 100 times every single day for 30 days straight. I guarantee if you contact 100 people every day for 30 days, you will get a client.
