I’m never good at making brownies or chocolate cake. They either come out dry or doesn’t taste like chocolate at all. I tried this recipe and let me tell you it is the best easy recipe put out there. We made a few of these last week - opting to use melted butter and Dutch process cocoa powder - and they were delicious. My only critique is to disagree with people who wanted you to dial back the sweetness; we all found that these needed another full tablespoon of sugar. Definitely a keeper!

Made this recipe today. Has potential. Next time I'll load more chocolate chips. The sweetness of it all is fine. Yes, brown sugar definitely plays a major role here. Gemma,I just made your brownie in a mug the new even better brownie at home.I had no oil so I used a bit of melted butter and I cooked it in the microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds, it turned out perfect and it tastes really good with whipped cream. Oh so yummy gemma

OMG Gemma i made this it is so good its moist and delicious i made a ganache with dairy milk and 1 tbsp of milk no wonder so many people loved it .I didn't have vanilla so i didn't use it i also didnt have unsweetened cocoa so i used normal cocoa
