Definitely a cool item to make and sell. When you breakdown the cost per unit and consider how much people will pay for one, you can definitely make a nice little profit. If making these out of a furring strip, I think I would have stress tested them to see how well the wood stands up. As a maker/seller, I would be concerned with the wood splitting over time. A harder wood, like walnut or ash, would likely last a lifetime. I can't imagine a 3/4" wide piece of pine lasting very long. Granted, the more expensive wood drives up the price, but you'd be selling a quality piece that you know will last, and you could get more for each one, especially if you explained it in your description of the product. I made some a couple of years ago. A different design, though. I used walnut, maple and padouk, creating a strip of each of the other two, i.e. maple with a walnut strip and padouk with a walnut strip, and so on. They even have magnets so they can go on the fridge. I added them to my Etsy shop when I opened (April '23) and I've only sold one. Disappointing, but they're still out there. They get views and an occasional favorite, but that's it. You can check them out in my Etsy shop. My shop name is the same as my channel name. Hopefully, you'll have better luck with yours. I checked out your shop. Some very nice things. Best of luck to you.

An easier way to find center on the ends is to lightly mark lines from corner to corner using a straight-edge. The center of the X is the center of the piece. It takes the math out of the process. Also, since you're using epoxy, it might be better to twist all the openers into the handles dry first to cut the threads in, then take them out, add a little epoxy inside the hole using a couple toothpicks, coffee stir stick, etc. then twist the hardware back in. They will go in a little quicker the second time so that your epoxy doesn't start to harden before you get the batch finished. Some of those 2 part epoxies only have a working time of a few minutes.

On your epoxy mixing, grab a sleeve of bathroom Dixie cups and mix and use, then mix again once those remnants harden... When it gets full or gets too nasty, just toss and grab a new cup!
