This has literally changed my life! Thank you, I can sample all my external stuff now

Glad it helped! Yeah, I kind of buried the lede: the main purpose of AutoSampler is sampling external hardware and it does that really well. :)

I have Studio One and I am going to try this with Prescence XT and Sample XT. Thanks for the ideas and instruction.

Great video. very helpful. I've used auto sample to sample some older vintage synths I have into EXS24. The round robin is great for making it feel more analog. This way whenever I hit the same note, I don't get the same sample repeatedly.

For those who are in windows , u can do this with FL studio directwave as well just create a directwave instrument and it auto samples , just in the sample menu don't check in monolith files, it provide u with all samples in wav file where u save the dwp instrument :) enjoy

Is it possible at some point to do a video on GUI's like this one? background photo, knobs layout and maybe, if possible, knob buttons swapping with proper looking knobs.. :) Thanks for everything you re doing for the community! :)

Just found a past video of yours about that custom knob on the PVC instrument, off to watch that! :)

DirectWave in FL Studio does this too on Windows and macOS.

So does the final sample include the loop regions?
@DavidHilowitzMusic4 жыл бұрын
yes!
@leviram40894 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHilowitzMusic amazing! So would you recommend using this instead of crossfade for finding loop regions? Or is it not reliable enough?
@Robert-kx8mp4 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHilowitzMusic thanks for the interesting lesson, does Kontakt set the loop count to 3 on your imported instruments? and do the loops sound okay? I can import the ESX directly into Kontakt 5, but I get a loop count of 3 on all my samples, and the looping sounds bad, I'm not sure I want to get into trying to make them sound good. I can open the same ESX in Ableton and the looping is very smooth, fwiw Ableton doesn't really support round robin. EDIT: on second look, the Ableton looping isn't much better, it was being masked by the fact that Ableton was looping all 3 round-robin samples at the same time
@DavidHilowitzMusic4 жыл бұрын
@@Robert-kx8mp I haven't tried importing the EXS files directly into Kontakt. I didn't even know that Kontakt 5 could read those files. (You learn something every day.) I wonder why it's not pulling the right number of loops. Maybe it's pulling in loop points for all three round robins and applying them to a single sample? Very odd.
@lahattec4 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHilowitzMusic As I recall, earlier Kontakt 5, or earlier than that) could read exs files. To do it with a later Kontakt 5 you have to use an older dll file. @@fabianbucher Ah, can that do auto-sampling?
@fabianbucher4 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHilowitzMusic yes but it's kinda quirky to use. best try the demo, I think you can do pretty much everything but save your samples. there's a quick tutorial here as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3vHpWaBa8x_j9U

Didn't know about autosampler in Mainstage. I'll have to check it out. I've been using discoDSP Bliss for resampling which works pretty good in my opinion. www.discodsp.com/bliss/

Most Daw's on windows /mac that have samplers can read read exs24 files even freeware ones like tx16wx www.tx16wx.com/ So possibly you could just make the Exs24 samples/ file available along with your excellent free downloads ✌ great vids by the way
