I appreciate that Daniel always uses janky set ups like shoe boxes and sponges because it really connects with what we are able to do in our household. Too often you get those tutorials that have $50,000 of production equipment. Daniel gives us hope that we too can create amazing looking commercial level content in our kitchen or living room.

So many things that one must take into account when recording. I tell them that the lights I have are very strong and what I do is place a blank piece of paper in front of them and it improves. Thank you very much Daniel for everything you teach us.

Thanks so many time Daniel, why do we have the big light sources there? because I saw you placing a Box in front of the light and Use a diffuser to Bounce the light back as an optional reflector... and that left the Big light having no impact Directly on that Subject... let me think, Probably you left it there for the Back ground? Just curious though

Great video! I’m an audio guy myself, just trying to learn what to watch out for and what techniques are available without blowing h the big bucks. Daniel, as a pay back for creating this video, I’d like to offer my expertise and let you know that for your dialogue audio, there’s one simple tool that should improve your audio substantially and that is a DeEsser plug in. Doesn’t matter which one. What does matter is that you this tool will suppress sibilance in your voice and make it smoother. Try it out some time 😉 I think it’ll make your audio THAT much better! Thanks again for a great video!

One thing that really makes me fearful of shooting video is not having the ability to shoot in color profiles (i.e. clog, or slog). Would you say that if everything else is set up right like lighting and framing, does having color profiles really matter when you can just color correct in post?
