Also wanted to point out another important bit in your video to the interested viewer. It might seem really intuitive to some but is probably very helpful for a lot of fellow students. You pick one colour and try to pick the hue, saturation and value of it and the you pick the other colours by comparing them to your first colour. This way the colours are always in relation to each other and by that have a certain unification and harmony. You've got to practise a lot of course to make it work perfectly, but after trying this instead of trying to match each colour on its seperately for a few studies yesterday, the comparing technique really helps making pictures look a lot nicer, even if your skills a a whole are not there yet.

Your English was very good to understand. Thank you for uploading this video. I guess I've got some photostudies to do today. :) Maybe you said it somewhere and Im just slow in my head...Is there a reason you chose rgb over cmyk and an additive colour mixing as a colour system?
@lixinyin35294 жыл бұрын
Thank you! CMYK for Print.not for you make artwork. I use RGB several years ago , you can use it if you know the color thoery. But, RGB is more complicated to use, you need to slide three sliders to choose the brightness, hue and saturation.

@@lixinyin3529 oh. I see. Thank you, I'll keep that in in mind. ☺
@lixinyin35294 жыл бұрын
@@mathilda6763 By the way, if you use HSB, Then you want to add some subtle colors, you can switch to RGB. If HSB is a big wheel. RGB is more like a small wheel in a large wheel. Suitable for small-scale color adjustments. Also, you can use photobashing to add some color. :)
@lixinyin35294 жыл бұрын
Maybe I didn't got the point of your question(my terrible english >_< )....., but if you ask about "additive colour mixing as a colour system". I will say "yes". When you got enough color form your reference, you can use these colors as a color system, like your color palette.
@mathilda67634 жыл бұрын
@@lixinyin3529 thank you so much this is really helping. with additive colour mixing I took reference of the RGB diagram in you video that showed that if you add all colours you get white...it's like wenn you combine all colours of of the light you achieve white light. I thought it was an interesting choice compared to how it is usually taught in school, at least in my country. In school they usually teach subtractive systems where the object/paint absorbs certain light ray colours and reflects the appearing colour l. For example a red ball might absorb a lot of green light ray and reflects the red ones and so appears red. So...when you mix all the paint colours together you get darkness/black. It's interesting to see you use the additive system it makes it like you're painting how light works. Really cool....sorry for nerding out a little, I'm still trying to find a good thing that works for me and yours looks really great.
