I just turned 40 and am about to start a channel....and am blown away buy how good this video- and videos in general by kids are these days. I didnt have half the ability to speak publically, edit videos, and put something so professional together. It is very obvious KZbin is a great entry point into reporting, broadcasting etc later in life if interested. 😮

I have to give you props. I've been trying find a video that explains in plain simple terms, how to get started making videos for youtube. You cut to the chase, broke it down in sections, gave good links to software for editing. I learned more about this subject in this one video than all the others I've watched....combined. There are a lot of 'larger' channels that never get to the point, never provide relevant links, and quite frankly, go on and on about subscribing to their channel but the content they provided took 10 plus minutes to watch and you covered the same information in the first 7 minutes (better and more concisely) and I've got about 20 minutes to go to learn more from you....something they never cover is thumbnails for your videos.... It's almost as if they don't want people to learn this subject. I'm an old gamer that just wants to put up some gameplay videos on my off time and this has helped me a lot. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for doing this video. I found you when doing a search of how to do gaming videos and I picked yours. It took a few times for me to do this what I did wasn't the exact same thing you did but I typed in the software you said in the video and downloaded it. Omg it was pretty cool. It's been awhile for me to be learning new stuff like this , I'm a busy mom lol . But my younger daughter wanted to do a video of her playing adopt me while having her shown on the screen at the same time and record it. I used the program you used and used the camera on my laptop. Omg it was easy to do. I felt so happy and I know my father who passed away in 2017 would be surprised by this as well. He helped me learn computers when they came available in the 80s . I'm 43 😊 I love technology. We're not going to post her videos public because she's still little but this will allow her to learn about the computer more and it will give her inspiration to do other stuff. Good stuff of course. Thanks. Keep up doing what you are doing.

hint for obs. if you set bitrate to 0. then the pc will record at highest bitrate as possible. for me it is around 34000.. but differ from game/program you record for ex. Ark is as high as 64K and Among us as low as 20K in some cases

Recently started messing about with recording and video editing myself and this is a great overview for sure, I've just been messing about with Shadowplay Recordings and using Windows 10 Video Editor (very limited functionality) but I'm going to be moving over to OBS and Sony Vegas soon as it seems much nicer and Shadowplay seems to make my voice very quiet.

You have to add your microphone under audio sources (in settings) and then once you add your display capture device it should record both.

I'm sorry you never got an answer from her. this is what I do personally. I record both separately using source record and combine them for videos while I stream. Check out my latest video to see what I mean. This way I don't have stream overlays covering gameplay

quick tip i just figured out on my own today, on the bottom next to the magnet and that weird shape thing enable that; so instead of dragging your clips after cutting, it does it for you. i only just figured that out after editing on there for 3 years thought you might want to know :)

Know its a old video but this tip will help others too 17:13 while making thumbnails... so just use select and mask and make the selected subject smooth than wasting your time in erasing it works pretty well though!

If you feel overwhelmed or hit a road block, get up and get away from your pc, clean up or do something productive and carry that momentum with you when you start to edit again. Just some advice that helped me tremendously years ago, also if you are colorblind like me and edit videos, lean into it and be unique.Trust women with colors, if you need correct colors for your video or suck at matching clothes, just ask one of your girlfriends to make you a sandwich, throw it away and make your own sandwich while she watches your videos.
