I had high blood pressure early once and was anxious, so the doctor said, I won’t give you anything but you need to exercise! Since then, I watch what I eat and with the stresses of everyday life, I exercise 6 out of the 7 days (running and weight bearing exercise) and I don’t drink or smoke. I find I don’t stress so easily now and the running has a calming effect and making people laugh gives me a buzz. 😊

I am so happy to hear this! I had a similar experience, I mentioned in a previous video, when I was in college I went to a doctor for anxiety and he told me to eat healthier, cut back on caffeine, and start exercising; he said to come back in 2 weeks if I didn't feel better. I never went back! It really helps to do these things, it can just be hard to start :)

So glad to see this video from you, Amanda! I'm always glad when you post :) I love the tip about making to-do lists - I try to do that as well, to control my anxious thoughts. Sometimes, it also helps me if I set a timeline for when I think I will have a reprieve, for example, if I have a stressful work thing or event, I will normally say, okay, in 5 hours, you will feel better. Try to get through these next 5 hours, one moment at a time and then you will get to go home and feel safe. I find thinking that, in combination with to-do lists and breathing helps a lot. Thank you so much for all the work that you put into this video, I really enjoyed watching it. Hope that you will get through these tough times. Sending you love and positivity, xx

I am married to someone who lives with anxiety and manages it everyday. Everything you said in this vlog reminds me a lot of the techniques that my wife uses when she gets anxious. All the best for this holiday and festive season. (hopefully it does't get too hot over xmas)😀

I miss your channel! I most definitely had anxiety from the age of 12 but this year definitely happened more than ever. My dad tested positive in early May and had to self quarantine and of course I had to watch over my mom who has seizures every so often and I had to be on alert in the middle of the night in case it happened and thank god it didn’t. Whenever my anxiety happens it normally happens at night for me, I get a cringing on my body and unease. I had to take CBD pills to manage when it happens.

That does sound really stressful, I hope things are getting better for you. I have anxiety and panic disorder and regularly experience nightmares so I try to journal and read before I go to bed, and I try to make sure the content I’m consuming before bed is positive. It’s important to be in a good head space and focusing on what you can control.

Covid helped me to work from home permanently now, one good thing that came out of it and it has definitely reduced my anxiety. It was the comuting to and fro that raised my blood pressure and gave me serious anxiety and I actually hated going into work and facing the people every day.
