Thank you Canna. After losing my job without notice and without reason, losing my health and then breaking up with my partner, all in the space of 10 weeks earlier this year, I struggled with depression. The more we share, the more we'll understand each other. I'm a single mum of three, btw. And I wish you every happiness x

Thank you for sharing, I hope that you are taking good care of yourself and know that you are loved by your three children and are incredible strong to be here and a good role model to them. Life can throw us some tough challenges sometimes but we have to pick them up, learn and grow from them and together that makes us stronger, wise but most importantly more aware...and sometimes that awareness can help others....xCC

Funnily enough it forced me into starting my own bookkeeping and accounting business and now I'm working with amazing companies and entrepreneurs. I guess the lesson is to have faith that there's a bigger picture we can play a role in if we keep being the best we can be even when we think we're falling down x

As a psychotherapist (and a human being!), I so appreciate you sharing your story. Caring for our mental health is just as important as caring for our physical health, and are of course completely intertwined. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of when experincing mental health symptoms. Yay for destigmatization and for asking for help when we need it!!!!!!

Thank you, I really appreciate your support, especially coming from your professional back ground, I was so nervous about making this video but I know that when I was in the thickness and darkness of this, hearing and seeing people who had come out the other side and been okay gave me the encouragement to keep wanting to get better. So even if this helps one person's heart ease for 1 minute, I know that it was worth it. Breaking down the social stigma of mental illness is one big big shift in helping get people on the path to recovery...hopefully this helps...xCC

Thank you for your honesty Canna. I can't relate to post natal depression but I have experienced depression and anxiety and experienced trauma (a few times unfortunately) in my life. Thank you for talking about things. We need more honesty and openness in society so that people know everyone experiences suffering and that it's ok to get help.

I suffered with post natal depression after having my second son. I also suffer with rocd anyway (relationship ocd). I started getting panick attacks again and then came along the anxiety and depression. I felt like I was going mad. It was hard to think I'd ever be back to my old self again. But luckily my aunt and uncle were very supportive and got me help. And I'm on medication that works great for me and I feel like my old self again. Watching happy family movies helped me feel just that bit better when I was struggling and talking to family. You're doing great canna, your videos are so comforting and inspiring 💖💚💖

Dear Canna, Thank you for telling your story. I had Ptsd and postnatal depression after the birth of my daughter. I had complications after her traumatic birth requiring a-lot of surgery and months of recovery. I didnt sleep for 11weeks which led to me getting diagnosed with postnatal psychosis...i hallucinated my nightmares. My family tried to understand and help me but i needed more, i needed professional help. Without everyones help i wouldn’t be here as the dark times where hell for me. My partner left after my daughters birth so it was my family that i needed so much from. The biggest thing that got me through was knowing others had suffered like this and had gotten better. Everyday i took it a day at a time ( i used to constantly say to myself ‘ it wont always feel like this’)....you can’t rush recovery. My heart goes out to anyone suffering as know one truly sees whats happening inside your mind and body. But speaking out about this will give others hope they are not alone in this...help is there. So thank you for your video xxx

Thank you SO much for this, Canna. Talking about experiences in mental health means we can help each other and have a better understanding of a range of mental health issues. PTSD has been a significant issue for a good friend of mine. He got help and is getting better every year. Routine and exercise really help him. Reading and learning about PTSD meant I could support him. So pleased you are much better and making your health and happiness a priority. Big hugs!! xx

Thank you for sharing your experience with PPD and anxiety. I also experienced this with my second daughter a year ago. It was horrible. And it still brings me to tears when I reflect on it. Sharing our stories is incredibly healing. Mothers (and women in general) are used and abused in all societies around the world, but we're told to be perfect and never complain. Only other mothers understand the (sometimes) cruel lows motherhood brings, but if we share... it makes an immeasurably impact of support and unity. Anyway, thank you for sharing, from the bottom of my heart.

I have suffered from anxiety since I was 19 years old. I absolutely love your honesty. There are so many people that also struggle with mental health issues, so it s important for people to remember that they are not alone. I have found medication has helped me, along with acupuncture to stop the physical symptoms and to help relax my body.

Thank you so much for opening up about this. I am terrified of giving birth and the experience of motherhood. I also am glad you mentioned how social media people give off a perfect life so sharing your story is important. Canna, thank you for your candid video. The struggle is real. I️ have suffered with anxiety for many years and also have good and bad days. Knowing that we are not alone and keeping an open dialogue will be a positive gift for so many of us. The hardest step is admitting to ourselves that it is ok to have struggles and not expect perfection in life.

Well said, Cana. Have a similar story to yours. My son is now almost 11. As a single parent it certainly can be overwhelming. Thanks for sharing this. Being real is so important. Like you I don't want to experience those bad times again. I started to say no more often, and slowly removed myself from not so genuine people. I say how I feel tactfully, but truthfully more - that was a game changer for me. I don't spend time doing things I don't want to either. And some peaceful solitude every day is essential - even for 10 minutes. The anxiety, and the fear of feeling anxious is still there, but I am kinder to myself now, and that helps too. No-one should face stuff like this alone - help is there, and your video is a brilliant reminder to all of us out there. You're amazing for sharing your experience. Thanks again and big hugs from Ireland. xx

I applaud your brave character! I have so many thoughts, I struggle on where to start first. Though my childbearing years are gone, I thoroughly enjoyed your video and so wished that I had some one to say those things when I had my children. As you can attest to, those thoughts and feelings hit you like a train you didn't see coming during the post-partum (natal) period. Being prepared is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family. I have three children total and I am here to say it can be done! Have your plan in place and you will make it through. You have provided a wonderful video to help anyone who is struggling, your choice of words was excellent because listening to other tell their story can be scary when you're in a bad head space. You were descriptive in a way that was easy to understand and not too detailed that it could be overwhelming for a post-partum mom listening. Kudos for a job well done!!!

Hi Canna, have you tried the Bach flowers? They really can heal your anxiety or other bad emotions from their roots, an episode of anxiety, for example, is maybe masking an old fear, or anger, even from your childhood, so that is the real origin of the anxiety, when you heal the anxiety with the flowers, the hidden emotion comes to the surface, you can feel it and recognize it, then you can heal it, it could be one, or more hidden emotions, they will appear and you will be able to identify them and heal them. I wish you all the best and lots of love for you and your beautiful family.💖💕

Many holistic docotrs found that food allergys can cause so much damage to our bodies. Many kids are allergic to cow’s milk and most adults and kids are allergic to gluten. Then we will lack of minerals and vitamins as well allergic reaccion can be in the brain such as mental fog, deporession etc. This is according to Doctor Joel Wallack from “dead docotrs don’t lie” he heals people with vitanins minerals and removes gluten feom their diet
