Everyone is different, but this is how I quit kratom. This is part I, and is a general overview of the process. In part II, I will go into more detail about different things, and am considering making more videos individually about important things I did and learned during the quitting process.
Ps this is one of my first videos in front of the camera, so I’m still getting used to it lol. Check out my latest vids where I’m a lot more comfortable :)

Just finished my taper, took 28 days. Took 40+ a day for 12 years. Been 3 days with no kratom and my brain is finally starting to began to normalize. Thanks for sharing. I was such a slave for kratom and it is so weird not having it with me everyday. If anyone starts a taper start taking black seed oil, it tricks your brain into thinking your getting more kratom.

Hi I'm in kratom addiction right now and I really need prayer. A part of me really wants to quit this stuff. But another part of me doesn't. I'm a believer and I know God wants me to get off. Pray that God will give me strength to do it. Also I need to quit smoking and overeating. I feel like I have no self control. 😕 thank you for your channel. GOD BLESS ❤️

Hey Mitchell, I’d be honored to pray for you. For your freedom, and for God to be your strength. Please remember that He is faithful, and that ALL things are possible with Him. I can relate to where you’re at and how you feel dealing with multiple addictions and unhealthy ways of living. Along with my kratom addiction, I had a 15 year weed and coffee addiction as well. I know the feeling of part of me wanting to get off and another wanting to stay. Please be encouraged that it’s possible to be free.

Pain was like nothing I’ve ever gone through, I’m covered in red grazes to where I’d ran my Nails through my skin in attempt to localise pain and away from my central nervous system. 50 years old. 30 grams a day for 10 years. I totally relate to every word you say. I want nothing more to come off this. I have isolated myself from the world and there is no real joy anymore. Its always looking forward to the next dose and the dose doesn't do what it used to do. It did at one time help. Its now the reverse effect. Today is my first day off. Im 19 hours in. Contemplating tapering instead of cold turkey. Cold turkey after 10 years could potentially be too intense. I need to be able to function. Thank God im not working. Couldn't come off and work at same time. This particular video has been so uplifting. Ive been scouring youtube looking for the right video. This is it. You totally understand and i know you care. Im so excited to have hope that the best is yet to come after im over the mountain. You know what sucks is all my neighbors are nosey and wondering why im not leaving the house or coming outside. Im usually a busy body. Its very obvious something is wrong with me. Not that i care but at the same time i do because i have to coexist with these people in the same vicinity so its quite awkward

Thanks again, Kyle! For sure- everyone’s process is different. I think I’m an extreme case due to the damage that was done during my addiction compiled with stress that was going on at the time. So it may have taken me longer than others to get back to normal. I’ve seen people on the QK subreddit feeling perfect after a cpl weeks, so my experience may not be to common.

Love the vibes & the straight forwardness. I’m on my 8th+ time trying to quit CT, from 40+ gpd. Tapering just doesn’t work for me. This is the farthest I’ve made it & these type of videos really help. I’m on day 7 & it’s starting to get better. The worst for me was I got the Flu after quitting & lost my taste. I feel like that’s holding me back a lot in eating & healing. Once I can taste again though I feel like it’s all uphill & I can’t wait. I don’t crave it at all with how shitty I’ve felt the whole week & that’s why I don’t ever want to go back this time. Thanks for the awesome vibes! 💞

Ive done it off and on for 8 or so years, with several large breaks, (like a year plus) Smaller doses and physical activity are key if you are going to partake. And taper off about once a year for a while. Should never get to these high doses...its where all the negatives take over. Constipation and the post euphoric " bitchy period " are the downsides if you dont remain active on it, and suppliment with hydration and natural laxitives like prune juice? ect....either way good on you to quit! Sobriety and exercise is always king!

She’s right about relapse and abstinence. It’s a slippery slope for sure. After years of heroin abuse which actually started out as kratom abuse, i used kratom first then moved on to heroin and fentanyl. Anyways I tried kicking the harder ones made it about a week and at that point kratom began to work again so I made the switch. Continued with that for over a year, all said probably a decade of mixed opioid abuse. I really thought something else was wrong with me when my health began failing because during the initial three to four years of kratom addiction besides understanding I was now addicted and would get sick without I didn’t notice any negative effects. Finally I admitted that was what was causing my problem, tried tapering several times failing miserably for about six months. This was the worst period for me mentally and emotionally. I went to spend a few weeks with my mom In AR where in couldnt get it, quit cold turkey. Really fucking intense, almost as bad as that week when I went cold on heroin. I came home too soon wasn’t fit to work yet physically and after only a few days I was taking it once a day again. Just in the morning, I didn’t get sick when it wore off but it literally took less than a month for me to be right back in it. That was my breaking point. I seriously thought there was mo way out other than death. I was so ashamed I had just done a detox at my moms house as a forty year old man and here I was again. What was I going to donInthought fuck I fucked this up I need to be in a treatment center, donI call a suicide hotline and try to gwt commited? At that point I believe God stepped in because all the sudden it quit working. I woukd take some and the withdrawals got worse. That was only ten days ago. The cold turkey second time around was much easier. I still have cold flashes and uber low energy but I can get through the day. I start my new job in a week and if I had not had the experience of it not even giving me any relief after shoveling the crap in mouth i know for certian I woukd be taking it just to get to work. The first few weeks of work may be a bit difficult but it will be ok. Its my only option God has clearly shown me if I lean on that crutch again it will break. I have to learn to walk on my own

I have been taking kratom for about 4 years. I unsuccessfully tried to quit cold turkey but could not handle the W/D. Now I have been cutting back on the amount I take. I bought a digital scale to make sure I taper exact amounts. I write down every dose and the time I take it. I am currently taking 2 grams every four hours. I am in the process of cutting down to zero grams slowly by increasing time between doses then taking smaller exact doses after I have stabilized. I hope this helps curb the pain of a massive W/D when I do get down to zero. Thanks for listening.

The first 5 days were the most agonizing, hellish, walking nightmare I’ve ever experienced. I truly felt like I was coming in and out of reality from the pain. I didn’t sleep until about Day 4 and it was for about 2 hours. Today I’ve been stuck on the couch, no energy, and the worst depression Ive ever felt. The fact that there’s people out there that scream and cry when you scrutinize kratom and call it a harmless dietary supplement is batshit crazy. Hey man, that’s awesome you got off methadone and other stuff. I don’t have experience with taking opiates, but some of the people I’ve loved the most in my life were opiate addicts, so I’ve experienced it that way. I see how kratom is a better option than harder opiates, and I’ve heard of people getting off dope and methadone successfully using kratom. But kratom addiction can still be a slippery slope to climb. It doesn’t effect everyone the same way, and not every one has had such a bad experience with it like I did. I don’t think it should be illegal, and I believe it’s up to each of us to choose if we should take it and if we can use it responsibly.

I've quit and gone back a thousand times, going through withdrawals dang near every week followed by another bender and isolation where I start to lose my mind. The anxiety of doing a simple thing is crippling and I've been in my room so long that it's making me have the effects people get from being in solitary confinement similar to that on a lesser scale. Once I pick up I immediately want to throw it out and have so many times including today. I'll go spend all day on the train and go sell my blood in the middle of withdrawal just to go buy some kratom that I throw out later and then go pick up more to the point where I've gotten scared to throw it out cause I know the next day I'll be fiending and i live in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention I have terrible sciatica and when I quit I have to deal with that getting worse to the point there's been days I lay in bed losing my mind all day

This is really inspiring me! I am 2 weeks cold Turkey from about a 5 year, 25 gpd habit. I tried to taper but kept RE-upping my dosage. I tapered for one week down to about 15 gpd and then quit. The broken up sleep has been the hardest, and the lack of energy and motivation. Kratom was causing me to experience great anxiety, which is something I have never dealt with. My wife and I are planning a 3 week trip to Israel with some friends in October and Kratom is illegal there. The timing is now! I am not craving Kratom, but needing to get my energy, my happiness back as soon as possible! It has been difficult to be productive, little jobs and tasks seem arduous and painful! We are supposed to meet some friends for a week of camping and I am concerned about not being able to sleep and stuck in a trailer! I am praying to get through this to the other side. I have been a Christian for many years and kratom has affected my prayer life in a major way! Thank you for your videos! They are giving me hope!

So I have some control. I Don't drink it all! But it does have some negatives. I isolate. But I wonder if that's so bad. I have no desire to go to movies anymore to the M a l l E t c. So if I didn't take k r a t don't think I could ..... NOT just stay at home. Staying at home I would probably dose. So I am in a real pickle.

I admire your strength. I've been on kratom daily since 2017..at my highest I was taking a KILO every 2 weeks. I've tried quitting a few times.. each time is different...the last time I experienced a miracle and didn't have any body pain. It always hits me as soon as I wake up if I don't dose before bed...but for some reason I just had chills, irritability,no sleep...but on day 5 I gave Into anxiety and craving...I'm kicking myself because that was a way out and I wasted it because of my mental weakness. ..now the body pain and extreme fatigue comes back..I just wish it wasn't so easy to buy..I live 5 min away from 2 gas stations and 2 smokeshops that sell it...if it was hard to get I'd probably be off by now.

Hope you’re hanging in there. The point is to not stop trying to get off of it. Also, think about joining a support group like NA. I got off after years of being on it as well, but it helped that I moved where it’s illegal. I knew it was the universe intervening at that point. My withdrawals weren’t easy. It was the flu x 10. I pushed through it because I have kids and work, but I remember sneezing like 30 times a day, no sleep for about two weeks, and sporadic chills and body pain. However, I felt joy in the midst of the misery too. I would inner cry walk (force yourself to workout through it too). I literally felt overwhelmed with emotion. The idea that I was finally getting off the k and truly substance free made me so grateful. I welcomed the aches because I knew that I was surviving this and those aches were reminders that I’m a human with feelings. Meditate/pray… write things out. It is harder when it’s so accessible so you’ll probably have to get creative in that front. Have someone to keep you accountable.

Yes I agree I wish it wasn't so easy to G e T . That's why when I was hooked on percocets. When my prescription ran out, I didn't feel bad at all! Just couldn't sleep at night. But the fact that I couldn't get anymore relieve me of the ......constant craving. That obsession to cop! That's why I believe I need to go into a treatment center where there is no chance of getting it. At least until the severe withdrawals subside. DIG? And I would not take anything in that treatment center. Not to help me sleep or anything.

If you're not feeling any withdrawal symptoms 48 hours after using, would you say you're dependent? Like say hypothetically someone takes I don't know 10 g every 48 hours, are they going to become dependent do you think? Just asking I don't take it
@grace.at.sunrise
@grace.at.sunrise Жыл бұрын
Hey Freedom, everyone is different but a lot of times it depends on how long and how consistently they use. I’ve known people who can take that amount occasionally and never become dependent. But if it becomes a consistent thing, there’s def a higher risk for dependency. Not having any withdrawals is a great indicator that there isn’t a physical or mental dependency yet, and in my opinion if they are to proceed, they should do so with caution. Because it definitely would be easier to stop now, over stopping when a dependency has set in. I’m here if u have any other questions :)

These were so good to sit and listen to. Thank you for taking the time to talk about all this. I was pretty much accepting I would continue on this path until my life had meaning enough for me to let Kratom go. It really serves as an antidepressant/ time filler/ friend for me. It eats me alive every day though, that this is what I do to get by. I was baptized and started my Christian life 3 years ago and that has made the Kratom addiction even more painful and shameful. I have a strong prayer life but I realize I've never experienced a true feeling of connection or Jesus's presence the way you described when you initially quit. I listen to a lot of testimonies that describe this kind of experience and I want it so bad for myself. I think the Kratom has been blocking my emotions and discerning what Jesus is trying to tell me. I'm very eager to get in this fire now. I have quit once before for 2 weeks on vacation. The feeling was so overwhelmingly heavy and black, I felt that I would never be happy or content again; I tried praying but everything including myself felt so meaningless and unsatisfying, even on vacation! This time I know what I'm up against and I will absolutely use your tips for making things more comfortable and try approaching God differently. I will email you at some point and let you know what happened. This really meant a lot to me. P.S. Im sorry for this humongous paragraph. I just never talk to anyone about this and I am bursting at the seems at the moment. It's such a huge part of my life. Thank you thank you girl

Take cautiously. It will help with your withdrawals but be sure to start tapering off kratom as soon as you feel comfortable being off sub. And yes exercise as many days a week. Absolutely important. As well as water hydration. You’ll notice if you don’t drink enough water you’ll feel like crap. Also start taking a multivitamin once a day and take the vitamin at a time you would typically want to dose for kratom. That’s part of the mental habit of taking something regularly.

Man. I jumped off suboxone from 1 mg. I took 1 mg for several months and when I stopped, by day 4 I couldn’t keep going, so I used kratom. It helped me so much. But here I am 1 and a half years later consuming kratom daily. I traded one for the other. It’s a shame. I consume approximately 20 to 25 grams a day and it takes money to do that. I’m very happy but I wish I wasn’t so reliant on the kratom. It doesn’t necessarily do anything for me. I just take it.

Hey man, that’s awesome you quit and are on day 5 now!!! Going cold turkey isn’t easy, but it gets you free faster. Feeling real crappy on day 3 is completely normal.. my acute withdrawals (the immediate, most intense ones right after quitting) lasted almost 2 weeks from start to finish. It’s different for everyone and I think how much we used and for how long is a factor in the process. I was taking 40-60 per day at my highest. I know It’s not easy, but if you keep pushing through it will subside eventually. You CAN do this!!!
@grace.at.sunrise
@grace.at.sunrise Жыл бұрын
And everything you’re feeling is completely normal. Our bodies get used to the feelings of peace, calm, happiness, etc that kratom provides while we’re using- so when we quit, the negative feelings like irritability, anxiety, and depression are magnified while our brain & body reregulates and heals. It’ll take a moment for things to recalibrate after addiction, hang in there.

I quit kratom cold turkey, it was hard. I was drinking about 2-3 shots of extract a day for about a year. I recommend stepping it down before quitting. High anxiety, mood swings, sleep apnea(hypnic jerks), the shakes along with worsened hand eye coordination, constant urination, upset stomach, I even had mild hallucinations(nothing crazy but still). Not fun, at all. Some people report zero withdrawls, I had almost every opiate withdrawl symptom there is and felt like I was gonna go crazy from the anxiety and lack of sleep, a borderline hellish experience. Been about a week and I feel much better, I think I have the worst of it behind me. If you're going thru it I assure you it will pass. It just takes a second for the chemistry to balance back out. Best of luck to yall.

I at first used kratom to get off pain meds but that's when I cracked up the kratom withdrawal put me into major depression. so I went back to the pain meds. I do have chronic pain. I was prescribed Benzos years ago for sleep but was afraid of getting hooked on those too. so I held on to them used only once a week for panic or sleep. I cannot handle the withdrawal and depression. I was saved in the 80s believe me I have begged and pleaded with the lord for help. I feel kind of abandoned. I have always been an advocate for Kratom, but I wonder if we are underselling it’s addictive qualities. I have been taking 1-2 tinctures per day for about 2 years, I want to be done. After 24 hours without any, I feel shaky, and sick. It’s not like other withdrawals, it’s more similar to caffeine withdrawals, but the access makes it tough, I have 3 headshops within 3 miles of me, plus every gas station that sells it. It just takes one second of weakness, and I find myself there again. I am working on it, but we need to quit telling people that this isn’t addictive, it absolutely is, and most Reddit forums have many people saying “it’s non-addictive”. Anything that hits opioid receptors is addictive, and will cause withdrawals.

Hey Nathan, I really appreciate this comment. One of the main intentions of this channel is to communicate the risks about this herb.. because many people first start taking it thinking that it isn’t addictive, and it is highly accessible. but I also advocated for it at first for a long time as well. I personally think tapering is the best way. cold turkey is to uncomfortable and possibly unsafe.I lowered my dose every 4-5 days for about 4-5 weeks and it worked like a charm.. I would also measure out how much I needed while I was at work so I was only able to take so much. it makes you hold yourself accountable as well..I feel like less is more in this case

Hey Mike, I agree with you 100%. I did a lot slower of a taper by cutting about once a month, but it was the best way for me. I def couldn’t have gone cold turkey. Why is there no short answer on how to quit kratom. 😢 I’ve been taking it for over 9 years. And it seems like I’ve wanted to quit for 9 years. I’ve tried tapering and it just starts the cycle all over again and stopping cold turkey felt like it would kill me. I’ve also tried other supplements… kava, magnesium, CBD etc… I just want to stop. Who can help me?? There must be something or someone out there that can help me stop for good. Please.

You’re right and I’m sorry to be blunt, but unfortunately there’s no short answer and there’s no easy way out with this addiction. I wasn’t on it as long as you, but I was taking a lot of it and wasted away to nothing, not leaving the house for weeks at a time. For me, it was my faith that gave me the strength that I didn’t have, and there’s a reason why finding a higher power is a part of a lot of recovery programs.. but if that kind of thing isn’t for you, i respect it. Please don’t lose hope..

@@grace.at.sunrise thank you. After so many years of this stuff, I actually bought a scale to measure my intake. And at 12 grams per dose at 4 times a day, I’m at about 50 grams per day. I’m going to try tapering one gram at a time for about 4 days at a time and hope I start to come off it. This is worse then my alcohol addiction. I don’t know much about faith though. Maybe I should start learning more about that and the higher power. I’m scared nothing will help but I’ll try anything. I want to be the same guy I was long before any addiction took over me. I hope he’s not lost forever.

@@johnnoehl8917 that’s awesome you’re considering starting a taper. And your plan about how much to cut from your doses sounds good.. I just did a video about tapering that may be useful if you’d like to check it out.. I understand where you are with faith, because I was there as well. For me, I just asked God who He was at first. Then I began praying and asking for Him to give me the strength that I didn’t have on my own to get through the quit. And I was never let down through all of it. This is why I believe what I believe, to this day. & I learned that it isn’t about going to a church, or believing in a religion- it’s about a personal relationship that we have with our Creator. Who you’re meant to be is not lost forever, you just have to go through this to get there. And though it may not be easy- I promise you it will be worth it and will make you a better person in the end..

Hey mama, I know how tough this is.. and our responsibilities make it even tougher to navigate getting free from this addiction. But the way that I look at is: it’s better to not be our best for a little while when quitting, than to not be our best for longer and risking causing more damage to our lives while continuing in this addiction. But I get it- being a mom and business owner are things that you can’t put on hold to go through the quitting process. I did a long taper over the course of a year, and maybe that’s something that could be an option for you as well. Whatever you decide, please know that there is a way out and I’m here if you need any encouragement- my contact is in the channel bio ❤

I was using 30-40 grams a day,I'd just toss and wash it down with water. I was told it wasn't addictive. I decided to stop,I quite cold turkey. There was a 11 day period of time I only slept 8 hours. The worse part for me was the physical discomfort and not sleeping.like a idiot,I started using it again.im using pull form now so I'm using less,probably 10-15 grams a day I want to taper but I do not want to go through that again.i can't use weed because of the job I have.i have heard kava helps and I have heard it's not addictive but I'm sure it is.

Thanks for sharing your experience and im glad you’ve made it here. A lot of us were under the impression that it wasn’t addictive as well. I also relate to the extreme insomnia when quitting, and know many who went through it as well. For me, it ended up getting a bit better at around 3 weeks after quitting. I also think tapering would be a good option for you. It’s not necessary to replace it with another substance. I recommend trying Magnesium Calm supplement, baths with LOTS of epsom salt, and very strong chamomile tea for sleep, and large amounts of Liposomal Vit C during the day ❤

Hi, I wasn’t working through my final quit. But I’ve known lots of people who did through the Quitting Kratom Reddit support group. Most people are able to manage it by trying to get 2-4 days off in a row before the final quit. But Some folks worked straight through it as well and I’ve heard of it going ok. I think it depends on different factors like what your job is, if you work with the public, if you drive or work with machinery, and what your dosage is at. If your only option is to work through it- it is possible! Withdrawals do not last forever and there are things that can help make it manageable like supplements and other safer herbs. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

I am starting tapering down off kratom .I am in klonopin "benzo" withdrawal an the kratom is making the benzo withdrawal alot worse. She said it when she said kratom causes hypersensitivity. Benzo withdrawal already makes me hypersensitive , with these kratom on top of it is literally killing me. If were to keep taking kratom i think I may literally lose my mind. I have gotten off of it before but this time is more serious. Kratom is so addictive because it's so available .you can buy it everywhere.its not like if your drug dealer moves away an can't get it. It's always there telling you to eat it because it "helps" .for some this Is true. Fir me I'd rather not take it. It is a strong addictive drug more so then what some might think.god is stronger then any drug there is.

How Kratom saved me from the life of being an actual junkie and costs $120 a month instead of $120 a day and it comes online I don't have to drive to SE D.C. and wait an hour because cpt. Also lets me have a job and a normal schedule, get normal sleep, and genuinely a more normal life. I take two spoonfuls in the morning like people use coffee and don't have to worry for the rest of the day if I'm gonna get sick. But ya, keep demonizing a literal plant lol. Its just crushed up leaves of a plant, no added chemicals or processing it to make it extra strong. Its plant leaves. Maybe work on yourself internally instead of blame some plant leaves.
