Some nice pans mate. Myself ,I do like a clean bottom. Scratch , suck and repeat. Feel with you hands if can't see the bottom. If its clear enough I use my view finder, to really see what is and is not bedrock. Cheers Andy PPA 👍

You're right about people leaving good gold behind, complaining about the price for a decent detector , not trying the benches above the creek where the majority of the gold accumulated, Hence the need to expand search area some what as the modern day gold is shedding from the built-up alluvium along side todays flow $4,200 is a reason to get out of the middle of creeks and search those 2 metres above the general flow. Get on it. Cheers 🍻. I accept rum in can or bottle form and look forward to seeing the new found successes. Get just a bit out of the water, where it used to be 😉

@@rumpig845 100% agreed unfortunately a lot of the areas I prospect in Vicco are creek beds only for digging

@@anothergoldprospector there's still a high water line. Check it out, something about a distance span from the centre of the tributary ( 3.5 metres < > and/or to the high/flood line. Land owners still pay to irrigate and don't own the waterways. If it's been dug before, it's getting double dugged. That's my rant 🤪. Cheers 🍻

@ i say dig it all haha some spots what you said does apply and you can dig it its the designated prospecting creeks that Parks oversee that are bed only

A tale of three creeks, Andy, liking very much New Creek 3, the barred and channelled bedrock looks excellent - if people aren't arsed getting through the hard pack, that's where the big flakes and nugglets are. Could be gems too. Those microcrystalline orange and red quartz growing in the bedrock is quite interesting, I'd be seeing if they can be formed into jewellery, we've faceted and polished exactly that stuff, best when there's the bright clear crystals at the centre like a thunder egg or geode, that voids had easily formed, and like the crevice you looked at, the inside of the boulder seemed to have been moulded that wavy way by the force of water and abrasives. New Creek One looked like nothing at all would catch there, not even lead or broken glass, maybe trout. They need runs of sands and gravels that won't move while the eggs gestate. Water Ribbons plants on the other hand need the turbidity to move their tubers as natural propagation in their part of the grander scheme of things, so whether gold will be in either, and ending up in the channels and crevices, under rocks and boulders, that, I'd like to be there to test!, test!, test!, wearing a giant sombrero, long sleeves and gloves. Damn, that fusion explosion 8.3 light minutes away is freaking hot! Stay safe, and big golden smiles to your pans, man.

@@gabivalla6279 hey gabi, I replied to this and just noticed it wasn’t there 🧐 Creek 1 was one of the most productive areas in the rush believe it or not haha, creek 2 was definitely my favourite just missing gold i think I will explore it further one day. Creek 3 is fairly well known but still holds nice gold if you are willing to walk the kms. The quartz I kept is dry but very brittle any gold it might hold will be from being jammed in it, probably find out tomorrow after I take the young fella on puffing billy

@anothergoldprospector A fantastic thing it is to ride as it toots through the hills, great memories result. Watch for leaping browns if you're venturing off-platform. As you go over the Trestle Bridge, the creek below from the station onward is where we'd been, from past mentions for blue sapphires, topaz and gold too, the sidings at the station on the hillside served as the worker's camp, and gold had been found at the camp and when the line was surveyed and cut. The left side outbound of the bridge is National Park, so it is a fossicking no go zone. Menzies Creek is a good locale if you're just looking at the trains and workshop there, plus plenty of history and gold nearby this place, but the right spots aren't easy to get to at all, and on the summer you'll struggle to find a place to park the car near where you want to go! On that, Belgrave railway station carpark and walk over towards Stoney Road. Now tell junior and yourself to go to bed as you'll enjoy the day more tomorrow. Cheers.
