It's a combination of Apple Script and in-built Mac shortcut functions. The code can be viewed in the shortcut itself. Def looking into Windows in future!

Been waiting a long time for something like this, so thank you! Would still love to have a way to set up to 8 hot cues automatically, but the tip about using the memory cues will have to do it for now. Mixed In Key app also has an auto hot cue function that can be added to Rekordbox, but it's unfortunately a bit clunky and annoying exporting and importing your library xml every time...

Hi Chris, thank you so much for putting this out there- legend! When I go to download AutoCue on my Mac it says I need the shortcuts app but that app is only available for iPhone/iPad. Am I doing something wrong here? I only have an Android phone but confused why it would need to be downloaded on a phone anyway. Thanks mate, love your videos

The shortcuts app should be preinstalled on any recent MacOS. If not check the Mac App Store

While this is cool, its ignoring oddities. I’d recommend most to modify they’re keyboard shortcuts than use this atm.

My solution was to switch to Virtual DJ, where their beat grid detection is spot on right out of the box! Even better, VDJ's beat grid has a variable mode that allows a flexible beat grid for tracks that are not the same BPM throughout... You can also customize the beat grid in any way you like. Best of all VDJ plays back Videos by default, and runs DMX via plugins... RB was always a fail on beat grids because it fails to know when the song starts. VDJ also wins there too, since they have a buy once, own for life, where RB insist on being greedy with their subscription ware and pay to add on things that used to be included with purchase of already the most expensive platform in the industry.. Best of all VDJ can use literally hundreds of controllers, and you can even use more than one controller from different vendors at the same time. So Mix and match a Traktor F1 with an RX3 for example... the possibilities are endless. I can also skin VDJ to look like Serrato, RB, or whatever I want...
